You play as part of one of the factions (EN, DE, PL or RU)

If you do it during Strategy phase, nothing will happen, if you do it during Battle phase when your faction has a "destruction" mission, one kill and one death will be added to the total amount of that faction. So chances are it will negatively impact faction K/D slightly.

The rewards are for individuals, but you can play with friends or clan-mate (with the same faction as you) to achieve the goals in normal-battle.

Usually it funnier and more efficient to play with friends.

Tomorrow, February 19th, faction paints will appear in your Garage and you can choose one of the four to join that faction, but remember — the rest of the paints will be removed after the purchase.

 

The War will begin with server restart on February 22nd, and the special site for the event will also open on the same day, February 22nd. The site was delayed to make sure all features are fully tested.

Yesterday I've read 4 topics and 1 div on the russian forum which are dedidicated to the War.
Actually I'm from Ukraine, Lugansk, and I'm speaking russian. Maybe I can answer some of your qestions and give a bit of info from there.
Don't be confused with my low rank, I have normal K/D on all my accounts, and I'm not a newbie at this game. 
 
The first thing I want to tell you is I'm glad all you can hold your flag (i. e. facture paint) proudly and not buy Russian paint. Now I'll tell you why. Sure it's the russian game (if you dont know, the main Office is in Perm City), so it has a lot players from Russia, but don't be confused with that 'cause a lot of russian druggers (incleding game moders and forum helpers) going to get NOT a russian paint (because if you will only kill ur faction teammates, the K/D of your fraction is going to get eqal to 1). Moreover, many of our druggers and usual users (inc. me) gonna buy all flags/paints, so don't be afraid the play gone unfair, I asked on RU forum about how factions will get award and was answered that they cant tell me the whole algorithm of winner's definition ('cause it's dinamical task), but nowhere was mentioned that winner would be defined by factions' amount, but by theirs' KD. So be brave, buy ur flag if u want, and know that Russian druggers will take EN+DE+PL (or the one they love more) and gonna kill another russian users, kek.  ;)
 

What will happen to traitors?
 

This question is for research purposes.

 

Admins on the RU board say that:
 
you can use mult(s) (your alternative accounts),
you can buy any paint,
and it's not prohibited to kill ur f®action users even if they're currently on the opposite team (for ex., whilst CP/ TDM/ etc). 
 

Traitors will be banned from the En forum and transferred to the RU forum in Siberia.

Yes, all this event's paintures are for rent, unfortunately. Idk yet when the next War event will take place. 
 

I really didnt expect this...

Tanki is giving free players an animated paint, one theyre spending a lot of time designing...

Don't have to pay 60€ for it... Don't have be super lucky from 3 containers per week for it...

I suppose, it's coz of the too hard to understand this War' mission and coz it's for the 1st time. 
 

Cant you launch the special site a bit earlier?

 The site https://war.tankionline.com/ is supposed to be that site, but idk for sure. It starts work at 5.00msk on Feb, 22, after servers restart.
 

Will the War run congruently with Iron Days or will Iron Days happen after the War is over?  Iron Days is usually at the end of Feb if I'm not mistaken.

 Thx for info, in our russian locale there were no such competition, but maybe I just forgot it. Actually we'v got a batch of events and competitions.

Did you know that Feb 23th is a national holiday in Russia? Before ine xUSSR it was called the Day of Soviet Army, later in SNG -- the Day of (national) Defender. That's the day when all family girls/women congrat their boys/men/fathers.

 In another words, the killing of your teamates which are from the same faction but on the other team in a batte iS USELES. If you're doing so, then you decrease your faction KD to 1. Make team with your faction's  users! I'd rather go out of the battle if it's full of them.

Three things you gotta do first to participe the event are: 

• buy one chosen paint on ur account in garage
• vote for next action of ur faction
• destroy 200 tanx during first day (during first phase)

Personally, I may decide for another team that is smaller and more organized or if we can create groups of friends to play together and play strategically and decide a team later.

 

This is the beauty of being a free thinker. ;)

You should have gived us an European Union flag so we could play as Europeans (French, Germans, Italians, Spanish etc all together). Now I have only the choice of getting the German paint or not play at all. I won't get the EN one as it's half USA, and the other half is Britain that's no longer Europe since Brexit.

Please provide a EU flag (12 stars on blue background) next time, or this time if you can.
