Keep Mission Chains Going During Road Trip!

Mission chains and their rewards are very important to me.

 

I am about to take a three day, two night day road trip. I’ll miss at least two days of playing Tanki. That’s at least two weeks of mission chain progress, for I will fall backward.

 

Good grief!

 

If only Tanki Mobile we’re here, right? I could play on my phone and keep missions going!

 

But wait? Isn’t there a flash browser for iPhone? Puffin, that’s the one.

 

I’ve downloaded it, and started Tanki. I’ve navigated to my missions and the garage.

 

To be sure, Puffin for iPhone isn’t designed for battle. But accessing my garage. It works well enough.

 

So my plan is to leave two unclaimed missions the day I leave. Over the next two away days, I will claim one mission each day. With luck I should be home in time to resume completing missions with no breakage in chains.

its easy to be a finish in first 3 places coward too

 

if yo uare lucky enough it can be done without even loading battle

 

there are lots of empty 1vs1 battles near 23:00 utc

 

just join the one who wins and wait for auto finish

That one bugged out on me. I finished first in ten battles and was on losing team, winning team, battle list, clicked battle, nothing worked at all. I gave up after three hours of trying to get it to work

also there is even better way... if you only need to have just 4th chain, claim every second day so you actually go like day 2, fail, day 2, fail. thats additional 7 days! (if you have progress already it goes 1-2-1-2-1-2-1)

Ping is 120 - 190

 

I customised to turn my turret with z, x, c 
Joystick controls to control the tank

I do this every time I know I'll be away from my computer and works really well.

Yeah I used that strategy during a study trip a month ago. Completed all three missions on the day I was leaving, but didn't collect rewards. On the next day my chain reset to the first day of the week, so I collected a reward. Then skipped a day, then collected another reward, skipped a day, collected final reward, skipped a day and completed more missions after coming back. Overall using this strategy it's possible to go a full 7 days without actually playing the game, and even longer if you manage to complete some simple missions on your mobile device (such as collecting boxes).

^thank you for the advice regarding stretching three days into seven.

 

I’d also thought about attempting to complete box collection missions using Puffin.

 

Using the hours before server restart to complete finish first, score goals, capture flags, capture points, and even collect supply missions is perfectly legitimate. On the other hand, more crowded battles are better for earn crystal and experience missions. It just is what it is.

I've just tried opening the game on Puffin, my phone runs on Android. It does work. I have one little tip - switch to desktop version (on Puffin settings) if the game doesn't load.

If i am on a trip, i tell my dad to play for me. sure he uses all 300 of my golds annd i steal his credit card. once, he even managed to turn my name to speakers. most of thr time, i find my missions not done and all 100 000 of my supplies used. he tells me i ranked. use your dads. they made my week go to 1956. (lol this was a joke). i just tell my neighbor to play :)

This gave me a good laugh. My dad just turned 80. I can’t even imagine him trying to play....

 

For another giggle, I tried to enter a battle using Puffin over WiFi just now. Wasp was very hard to control. Titan was better.

 

I’ll stick to claiming missions.

 

UPDATE:  The stage is set - I've claimed my mission for today and completed the remaining two yet left them unclaimed.  I have today, tomorrow, and the day after before I have to enter battle again.

Day 1 - claimed missions on my main and three alternate accounts.

 

Hit a bit of a snag. The house I am staying in has lousy cell/mobile service. We’re in sort of a dead zone. But I was able to get a decent signal early this morning by going up to the attic.

 

I was also rolling the dice a bit on over the air signal quality vs the WiFi year I ran the other day. But with few neighbors awake this early to compete with me, I had a strong LTE signal. The garage components of the game performed just fine.

 

Will check in again tomorrow. Two of my alts week 4 chains pay out. I also plan to open a 15 container batch. That ought to be interesting to see on my phone.

Day 2 - claimed the last of my available mission rewards on all four accounts. Puffin browser worked just fine. I also opened 15 containers in one of my alts and received Atom paint in addition to the usual flood of supplies and a few crystal packs.

 

I should be home tonight and will begin completing missions again.

 

“Mission” accomplished. Lol.

Puffin is a lot more than a way to claim missions while away from home.

 

You CAN enter battles and move your tank using the game pad control in Puffin. You’ll need to remap up to three keys, leaving the fourth set to space bar (duh). Not sure what to recommend for those three keys. Turret rotation seems like a must, but for non-pro battles you may want to sacrifice rotation for supply activation and even consider the shift key for Overdrives. Just realize you’re at a huge disadvantage compared to computer players.

 

But think about an MU sale, especially on lower modification levels or lower steps of higher mods when the step delay is less than 2 days. Puffin allows you to visit the garage as soon as the sale starts so that you can start your first MU. You can then do your thing IRL while the delay timer counts down, then revisit the game when the timer completes or the sale is almost done, allowing you to sneak in a second or third discounted MU step while paying small or no speed up costs, which are a waste.

 

You can also do obvious basic things in the garage. Forgot to change from a custom turret and hull after that last weird battle? Use Puffin to switch back to your standard tank and gun. Change paints too. I opened containers in Puffin no problem, although I was careful to make sure I had a decent signal.

 

Not sure if I am brave enough to use the Shop via Puffin. Anyone done this?
