Some people say it hit an ice berg, got s hole in it and drowned... Some say the part where ice berg hit the ship, was very week before there was a fire since 3 weeks... Fire made that part weak but they couldn't stop the ship cause all the tickets were sold

It's difficult to pinpoint the exact cause because the wreck was only found in 1985, more than half a century after it sank. That said, I don't think it's unbelievable that a huge chunk of ice could sink a huge ship . . .

If no , An iceberg or ice mountain is a large piece of freshwater ice that has broken off a glacier or an ice shelf and is floating freely in open water

And 75% of it will be under the water , so what you see as a small mountain is actually a Everst

 

So it is more than enough to take out a ship

Low water temperatures and high impact loading also caused the brittle failure of the rivetsused to fasten the hull plates to the ship's main structure
