Welcome Governor! Thanks for joining us here today, Please tell our readers something about yourself.

 

Hello! My Name is Phil, I live in Germany and I'm 19 years old.

 

 

Tell us about your early tanki life, how did you begin?

 

I started off playing casually in early 2012, but I've always been using Hornet Railgun so I was pretty good with it, and then eventually I got picked up by the most successful German Clan at that time, Old Stars.

 

 

Awesome start! Could you tell us about your eSports journey; how did it begin and what have you accomplished so far?

 

With a few of my Clanmates from Old Stars I registered for the first season of MoS Trio without even thinking of any success, but we managed to win, so I got my first ever paint there, Gladiator. That success gave us motivation to take part in big tournaments, so again I gathered some friends and we signed up for ToF Dream Team, in which we also managed to succeed and take the 3rd Place with a loss against Team Pointers.

After that I joined HZD, which I left after 1 season because of some inconsistencies. With AK I managed to win DS2 and take the famous Acid paint. Sadly, AK closed after DS2 and I was looking towards joining a new clan, but that's when Assertive brought me into my current clan, Penguins. With Penguins I managed to win Gladiator in a recent Clan Championship and we already started preparing for other tournaments such as the EN CC, in which  we were the ones to win the new Prism paint. That didn't cause us to lose our focus though and we still kept training daily to prepare for MoS, which is the most popular tournament alongside CC in tanki right now. We knew that we prepared very well and that we could achieve alot more than others might expect from us, which turned out to be true and we took the first place against the old champion of the first season of MoS and managed to win the Impulse paint as well as Gladiator again.

 

 

That's great! You have clearly been successful ever since you started your eSports journey. So, let's talk about the legendary Starladder time: were you part of StarLadder? If so, then tell us about your experience with SL.

 

Yes with Old Stars, but no achievement there worth mentioning.

 

 

How and when did you became part of best EN clan ever, AK?

 

My friend told me that AK would be back soon and I was asked to join them, so I gladly accepted that opportunity and joined them. I also met @CriminaL_LyF and @Lankbouv there, which are my clanmates till this day. (@Lankbouv is no longer member of Penguins, this interview was done before @Lankbouv left PenGs)

 

 

Now you are playing for clan Penguins, currently hold two precious paints: the newly added Prism and recently won Impulse. How do you prepare your clan for greater success, please tell us about that.

 

Training is the most important thing and it helps to have a schedule. In those trainings you need to find your weaknesses and try to eliminate them in order to improve. PenGs especially has a great clan atmosphere which I haven't experienced in any other clan ever to that degree, so I think that also helped us to develop good teamplay and communication.

 

 

Any advice to new clans and new eSports players?

 

Don't give up and expect to achieve a lot right at the beginning. Train a lot and don't care about other clans, just focus on yourself and work on your mistakes as well as on weaknesses, and it'll pay off. A good example is the EN CC, in which many clans showed a great performance and proved that hard work at trainings pays off.

Yes, To4HbIu_cTpeJloK was my nickname before I changed to Governor, it means something like "accurate shooter".
