It was a dark, frosty night in Ravencliffe. Leaves danced across the street, with a mind of their own. In the far distance, the wolves on the great mountain howled their misery. The trees all around me shrieked and screamed their despair: the very atmosphere was desolate. I walked across the broken pavement, shivering despite the wonderful warmth my thick, furry coat gave me.
Tonight was Halloween: one would think that children would be running around, collecting sweets, or as they called it, trick or treating, but the answer was quite far away from the thought. Tonight everyone resided at their homes; not a single person was to be seen. It was almost as if it was a ghost town! Why? Well, there was a myth that everyone believed in. There was a certain house - if you could call it one- in fact, the very one I was travelling to now, which was believed to be haunted. Supposedly, there was a ghostly spectre that lodged there, and one of who’s spirit was so aggressive that it would haunt anyone who disturbed it for the rest of their lives, and possibly even murder them. That was why everyone was at their homes: they feared for their safety. However, I had always wondered and had dreamed about this terrifying story for years, as a child. I was always curious about many things that some people wouldn’t even think twice about- my curiosity had often got me into trouble, and I had been been reprimanded too many times to remember.

As I reached my destination, I started to doubt if my choice had been a wise one. Nervously, I ambled across the lawn. The looked up at the structure, and the sheer size of it struck me: the colossal figure loomed over me, as if it was the giant from Jack and the Beanstalk, but in this case almost looking at its prey. Should I really go inside? Or should I listen to my instincts, and run home? I hesitated for a few seconds, and decided that I should go in: I needed to figure out if the legend was true. I marched in: my curiosity got the better of me- they say curiosity killed the cat. I am no cat, but today we would find out.

I pushed open the heavy oak door, which creaked with age. The sound was terrible, and I noticed the large amount of moss on it. I peered inside, and stood there with my mouth open: the spiders had taken refuge inside the building, and there cobwebs everywhere for as the eye could see. I crept inside, and was surprised again to see that everything was still intact. The kitchen was full of cutlery from at least a century ago, and the floorboards were dirty and squealed when stepped on, but still firm all the same. I started to walk, or rather climb up the stairs- they were extremely old, and one even broke: it simply could not bear to support my weight. I started to search the first room, and I suddenly had the uneasy feeling of being watched. Nothing was out of the ordinary. Maybe I should go? After some thought, I went into the second room. Out of the blue, a cloud of bats flew at me. I ducked, and suddenly slipped on something. I fell hard and my head banged on something sharp and hard. I felt extremely dizzy, and I felt like I was about to faint. Coming here was a terrible idea. I was scared to death. After what felt like hours, the outburst of bats had finally ended. I got up to my feet, and they all watched me from the windows. I turned for the door: I was done with this place. As I started to bolt towards it, I felt an icy cold grip on my shoulder. Mortified, I turned around, and screamed with no sound. What looked me back in the eye was Dracula. Words could not describe him: he was Fear. He revealed his fangs, and I saw no more.

@pikachu938 - link to entry.

And 2,000 crystals go to @Aigaion for the pun.

Congratulations to everyone. We hope you enjoyed the contest. Your prizes will be delivered on Monday, very likely in the late hours.

Tears.............................................................................

And disagreement.  You don't even know who killed you!

Why should i give myself more credit for what i'm worth if I'm supposedly not worth it.  This does it, I am NOT ranking.

First reason is that this is a contest, and the fact that not everyone gets a prize is totally natural in competitions. If everyone got a prize, it would be giveaway, not a contest. If you are asking why you and some others did not get prize, well then I can tell you that copying an online story and pasting it in the forum topic is an old trick that we do not award with any crystals. I specifically mentioned that plagiarism will not be tolerated, yet I found at least 3 or 4 entries that where straightforward copypasted from the net.

As for the scavenger hunt, that is more of a question on the contest host, Hexed, if I am not mistaken. It is possible that his entry was not complete or did not meet the requirements and thus the fact that he submitted it first did not play any role.

Can you just stop pretending that you are the Star Lord?

Jury has the final stance and that must be respected. Stop whining like a cat.

Just Shhhhh
