We humans always tend to underestimate our abilities and powers, and even in a game like Tanki Online, we sometimes forget how good we can be.

 

As a beginner with no friends in the game or whatsoever, I started Tanki Online four years ago. Nowadays, I come to think about how stupid and childish I was being on the first map I was in, Rio, and trying to micro-upgrade every single parameter for the turret. Ever since then, Tanki Online has become my second family, my favourite game.

 

Thinking back to how hard I worked trying to rank up, I almost can’t understand how I even reached General, my current rank. I had nothing back then, four years ago, when I was just a mere Staff Sergeant with no friends, no crystals, no premium, nothing. Trying to rank up every day, I logged into the game only to get beaten by other, better players. This went on for quite a while, until I decided to quit the game. Why am I still here, alive and playing? I have never told any other players about my personal Tanki Online history, but I guess it is the time now.

 

After a few months, my real life friend, whom I met a few years before I started to play Tanki, suggested that I should start the game again. However, I forgot all about my previous account, @rus0806, so I created a whole new account named @russellps_777. This time, it was me and my friend playing together, beating other players and enjoying the game to its maximum. After a few months I reached the rank of Sergeant Major, the same as my friend. However, he quit Tanki Online and went on to play new games, leaving me alone in the game again. Deciding to never touch the game again, I stopped playing for a whole nine months. It was until I accidentally pressed on a link which lead to Tanki Online when I finally decided that I would start playing Tanki again but never quit it ever again.

 

Playing on the @russellps_777 account seemed far easier as I ranked up higher and higher, progressing through the levels at ease. I upgraded my turrets and hulls, even buying a kit once. It seemed like such a perfect ending to the complications which had happened before, but as you know, for every good comes a bad, and this is no exception in my case. I accidentally changed my password one day, when I was at the rank Lieutenant General and I forgot what it was. This forced me to stop playing Tanki for several weeks, which I spent upset and mad at myself. Realising I had to start the game from the beginning again, I nearly quit the game once more. Out of nowhere, I suddenly remembered that I had another account, my very first account named @rus0806, in my possession. I took exactly two weeks trying to figure out my password, a blindingly obvious word that I will never forget ever again in my life.

 

Since I was barely at the Staff Sergeant rank, I took a lot of my time and spent them all on ranking up my account. I even made plans on what to buy when I ranked up, so I never wasted a single crystal. After reaching Warrant Officer One, I had 50,000 crystals, quite a large amount for my rank. When I reached Warrant Officer Four, I joined my first clan ever. At Second Lieutenant, I bought my first M2 product kit, Fortress. I kept on getting better at the game, saving up more crystals and buying more turrets and hulls.

 

My first in game purchase was in June 2017. It was a 90 day premium account, which I had hoped to get for a while. Since then, I bought heavily through the rest of the year and in 2018. I bought crystals, several paints, including two animated paints, a clan, containers and other things over the two years I was introduced to buying. In both years I made many new friends, some of whom I will never forget. My best friends in the game are currently in my clan, which I made in August 2017. I worked harder than ever before, finally reaching Lieutenant General. Opened up to many M3 kits, I bought four: Bulldozer , Master of the Taiga, Maestro and Bumblebee; I Micro-Upgraded Twins and Viking to M4.

Now I am at the rank of General, and I certainly hope to reach Marshal before the end of the year 2018. I also hope that you enjoyed reading about my history in Tanki Online, and I hope that you can share yours below in the comments.

Nice to see another of these type pieces, it is always interesting to read about someone else's perspective on the game.

 

I do feel it is a bit short, if you compare it to Lukey's, Maf's, or mine, you might agree. Do you have any memorable battles? What are your thoughts on some of the updates? Favourite/least favourite update? Any contests you've participated and won? How did you discover the forum? Any screenshots? How is your clan doing; who are the people in it? And so on.

 

What you do have, however, is very good, accurate, and pleasurable to read.

 

Ooh, maybe you could turn this into a mini-series :P

• The past tense of quit is quit, not quitted

Quite enjoyable, but I would like to hear some more details like in specific not generalizing what happened over a year.  Otherwise, nice journey throughout your Tanki career!
