Big Changes Coming To The Newspaper This February

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hello, all the tankers and readers.

As you may or may not noticed in December, we said we plan to introduce a couple of changes in the New Year to the way Newspaper works. These changes are being implemented as we speak and that's the reason why the issue won't be posted this week.

BUT, let's end on a more positive note. We already have a bunch of awesome content prepared, and you can look forward to some really cool and BIG stuff that is coming to you this February. There's a lot of totally new content, some classics and naturally contests.

We are sorry to let you wait a bit more, but we hope you will be blown away.

Stay tuned and best regards.

The Newspaper Team.

Update

Hello everyone. As promised the time has come to explain the changes that will be happening in the Newspaper this month.

But before we get to that, I deem it's important to explain the delay in the publishing schedule. As it was said in December, the next publication date was suppossed to be February 1st. This deadline was completely reachable for us, and in fact, we were ready to start publishing again. The thing that crossed our plans was unexpected, as I mentioned earlier, and that thing was V-LOG or the lack of itm respectively. If you are asking how are these two things related, the simple answer to it is that we prepared an announcement about these changes for the upcoming V-LOG and did not want to get ahead with publishing before the official announcement gets out. Thus, we decided a week postponement until next V-LOG would be acceptable.

Unfortunately, for some reason, be it human error or something else, the announcement did not make it to the this week's V-LOG and we believe it just would not be fair to keep you waiting any longer. However, we hope the announcement will make it to the next week so that we can reach the wider public with the news.

With that out of the way and clarified, let's make the changes official.

As most of you know, the main way of publishing content in the Newspaper for practically most of its existence were the monthly Issues published on first Friday of each month. While this system proved to be effective in the past, the last year or so showed us that one issue in which all the articles appeared together and the announcement about it does not generate enough views and attention to the content we produced. It was frustrating for reporters to produce content of high standard and get maybe couple of hundred views. We also learned from the responses that you left in the past surveys that lot of you tankers prefer to read just a couple of articles at a time and would actually appreciate if there was less content that is published more regularly.

Based on this, we made changes accordingly. From this month on, there will be no issues coming out other than maybe on special occassions like Halloween or New Year. Instead, we plan to publish articles separately and spread them equally throughout the month. The schedule we set for the start is one article per week and one contest every two weeks. The articles should be published on Fridays. It may look like there won't be as much content coming out as it was with issuesm but we are just starting and testing this new system. So for start, we decided to set a managable amount of articles we can guarantee producing. Naturally, as the months will progress and we stockpile more content, we will adjust the schedule and publish more often.

Since the articles will be spread more equally on more days of the month, we also advise you to follow the Newspaper forum section and the announcements in the Tanki Online Newspaper Hub topic. We will also try to post as many in-game, Facebook and Discord announcements to make you constantly updated on the new articles and content we created.

We are starting today, so stay tuned for the first article.

Sorry for the text wall, and thanks for understanding.

The Newspaper team.

what a.... deceptive way to excuse yourselves for the delay

We are not deceiving anyone, the changes are being implemented and we prepared some stuff that is really, really nice in fact. The delay was unfortuantely unexpexted and is not entirely because of the News team. I would explain it further, but if I did, I would give away a part of the surprise. If you have a doubt, I accept it as it is rightful. Hopefully, we will be able to change your stance at least a bit with the new stuff we prepared.
