I'll repeat it again. It was very clearly phrased what is being asked. If you did not know the meaning of the word or totally skipped it, there's nothing I can do about it. If I want to answer a question correctly, I have to understand it in the first place.

My understanding of the question was the last issue before this experiment, meaning the last multiple-posting-times issue before February.

You are right. But in other words, if you misunderstood the meaning of the word 'preceded', you will get the wrong answer...

Maryam please, you made a mistake, it is fine and you have learned a new English word. It is good learning on how to tackle contest, next time you will be more careful. It is the newspaper after all, exacting and advanced words will be used because that is the way they speak and write, so yes English word are expected.

 

I understand your frustration, myself have issue with the world "post" like in "post-war", it took some time and effort to finally digest that it means after an not before.

 

I am sure Flexoo will also take some learning from this and will use more mainstream words in the future. However, I have seen question in other Tanki contest way more tricky than this one.

 

As for now the contest was fair and it is now closed and winners have received their rewards. If you want to discuss further use PM.

Okay. This is my final statement to all that has been said here as it seems quite few people have hard feelings about this.

 

I phrased the question as I phrased it. This is the way I wanted to phrase it and I am not sorry about it. I do not feel I set the question to be super difficult. If there would be literally noone who would answer it correctly, then yes, I would admitt that perhaps, the formulation was not the best choice. But as said earlier, I managed to find the winners, and I received a lot of correct answers realtively quickly, basically waiting just for the last 2 places to fill in.

Please also do not expect that every question will be spoonfed through a basic English. Besides, I believe I did not use any extremely difficult scientific language. Even if you did not understand the meaning of certain word, I hope it is not hard to find the meaning of it online, which should take a max 15 seconds.

I hope you do not hold some grudge, if you do, there is nothing really more I can do. Best of luck in next competition if you choose to participate again.

i have a suggestion. just a suggestion. because this newspaper is now a combination of the english, french, arabic and  hindi, how about you ask the question in all 4 languages? This way people who don't speak english can still understand you. and if it is unclear in 1 language we can still understand it in another

Totally understandable. I think even I thought the same for a second.

However, the first part of the question, gave example. It mentioned Newspaper Issue 82 which helped me to decide correctly.
