Okay Tanki, what's up with this new update?

Firstly, the mouse controls have been awful. Sudden spikes of extreme FPS on the turret turning, and before you ask, no it isn't an internet issue or computer issue. Ping was around 70 and FPS was hovering around 60 before dropping and shooting up again. Second, all the 9999 GS players now have rainbowrectangle.png instead of actual numbers and it looks so bad. What's going on?? None of this was a thing before the last little update.

Yes this has occurred to me too, it only happens whilst using certain mice. Although, I have managed to find a loophole around it, if your mouse has a control panel then find it's settings to lower the Polling rate (Hz) of it.

Looks like some glitch and not an actual update. They may fix it soon

I've tried that--if I lower it too much, then the mouse doesn't respond well and my tank is very sluggish.

As far as I'm aware, nothing has been fixed. I haven't checked today though.
