To put it short, upgrade your turret and hull first, after that you can buy modules. But try to invest in both at the same time: go for one turret and hull and try to get a couple of modules upgraded. As you are brigadier, Mk5 is the highest you can go for iirc. But if this is too expensive, try going for Mk4 modules

That means -if I unbderstood you right- for me to upgrade vertically for now (one combo), and then at a high rank of marshal or even legend to develop horizontally by adding more combos from the shop, have I got it?

You can either buy the Mk6-kit when it appears in the garage, or you can wait till you hit Lt. General and then buy the kit. However, it does take a lot of time for your kit to appear in the shop for crystals. So it is best to check what is available instead of aiming for one specifc kit. 

As you are almost Mj. General, having Mk6 items is not wrong at all! But I remind you that crystal kits get no further discount during sales: it will stick at the same price as now. 

500K is a lot of crystals. As @At_Shin said above, upgrading vertically (turret and hull) is your best option. Pick a weapon and hull to upgrade to Mk6, if possible you can also upgrade some ofyour modules. Try to keep some crystals left: if you are ranking to Lt. General you may buy yourself a good Mk7-kit. Do not invest in micro-upgrades, you are going to upgrade most of your items to Mk7 so spending crystals on MUs is a waste. 

Good weapons to upgrade are Smoky, Ricochet and Gauss; good hulls are Hunter and Viking

I am a little confused. What does this means? Do not all the kits appear in the shop for crystals, whwn I become a Lt-General? Because now I have nearly all possible cominatios for coins in the shop!

And: Does buying a MK7- Kit in the shop presuppose upgrading its 3 components to mk6 first, or it is possible to get the mk7 kit for the price of 382K crystals directly from Mk1-components? It is important to know the answer, because it make a diffence of about 600K crystals!

Chances of seeing a crystal kit are pretty low, and it is also possible that these are not the kits you want. So the chance that you get your desired kit for crystals is incredibly low, yes. Hence, you should be flexible with what you want: if you find a kit with items you think are good, I would advise you to buy that one because waiting for the perfect kit can take months if not more than half a year! Also, never refresh the shop-page, because everytime you do so you have to pay more tankoins to refresh the page again. Therefore, always look at the shop-items for crystals, for you may encounter your dreamtank. 

If you do not want to wait for such kit and want to get the turret and hull asap, it's best to buy the items seperately. For example, if you want to buy Gauss, then it's better to buy the weapon itself than waiting for another kit to come. Kits are only 35% off, while during Christmas sales for garage items go up to 50%: the crystal kits itself will not become -50% off.

As Firebird is my most upgraded turret, and the opponents will be stronger, would you advise me to buy the incendiary mix? I have already the fuel tanks but opponents with heat immunity would render it useless.

@At_Shin You suggested to wait for purchasing the Kits for crystals until Legend. The WIKI states on product kits the following:"Regarding ranks' limitations, kits will be available until your rank is higher than the rank needed to unlock all the items in the kit".

The Marshal rank unlocks all MK7 hulls, turrets and modules. Does not that mean, that when I get the rank Feldmarshal, all the Mk7 Kits would not be available anymore?

The problem with my actual combo Firebird/wasp that it is a waste in large maps. During the last experiment with 16vs 16 large maps It was no fun playing with this combo. Therefore I want to buy a middle to long range weapon like wasp with a more durable hull like Viking.

The problem is the following: If I would not buy this combo now and wait for it as a Mk7 Kit, I could spare crystals but the kit could take months to appear in the shop, or do you @At_Shin have had a different experience in waiting for the kits in the shop?

Why would you advice the incendiary mix if I have already the fuel tanks augment?

About the twin: I have upgraded to try it, but I did not really like it !

Module Gaus Mk4

Module Magnum Mk4

Firebird Microupgrade 2 steps to Mk6-5

 

What do you think? What would you add/delete/change? Please help me making the list as optimal as possible with your suggestions!

Personally, I would say get Smoky Mk6, Viking Mk6 and Gauss Mk6. Don't need to Micro-upgrade, it's a waste of crystals since you don't haver Mk7 yet. For modules, I would say get your 3 main modules to Mk6, and any augment for Smokey expect Assault Rounds and Cyro rounds should do. I did some calculations and all that will set you back about 650k crystals.

So i got over 400k saved up but im debatin what to do w/ it durin the sale. Should i upgrade my tank, buy defender and upgrade it, or just buy defender and spend the rest on my tank?

My strategy has always been to spend a lot on one hull + one turret + three modules (including micro-upgrading them after Mk6) until I can buy other equipment at Mk7, whether at Lieutenant General as product kits or separate items at Marshall

But part of that is only sensible if you don't rank up very quickly, so I have some modules at 35% because I'm not in a hurry to get to Marshall

If I was, and earning up to 40K XP per week by doing three missions every day / finishing challenges, then micro-upgrading any Mk6 equipment I bought in the sale would be pointless because my just-ranked-up-to-Lieutenant General account would get to Marshall in a few weeks instead of a few months

For that list:

I don't see any harm in buying other turrets if you want some variety

I think the Mk4 modules (and any other Mk4 equipment) would be a waste of crystals at your rank

(if you want Gauss and a Gauss module, I would wait until you rank up to Lieutenant General and save up for a Mk7 Gauss kit, even if it means waiting a while for one to appear in the shop)

Finishing the micro-upgrades on Wasp and Firebird to Mk6-5 would make sense to me because it's your main equipment, but you won't be able to do two steps in the sale unless you use speed-ups, which are very expensive

One of my accounts has a Mk6-3 Grizzly module (Thunder), but I'm only going to upgrade it by one step during the sale (for 25250 crystals instead of 50500); the last upgrade will have to wait until another sale, might have to accept only 30% off that one

I would say Driver but unfortunately the hulls that complement Driver the most are the hulls you use the least. :(

Still, it can be a good alternative to Defender and Booster if you run out of supplies.

Twins is obsolete. Both Smoky autocannon and any number of vulcan variants now put twins wholely to shame.

 

Twins for a long time was bread and butter to me. No need to ever use it again. The next twins augment better be the most over powered thing on tanki. Cycle it back tanki devs. Give twins some lovin again. Not that historically its been underpowered. But certainly last year or so.

 

Any good augment combo with any turret happy to here. I dont have magnum and will never get it. But my garage is now full of everything else.

 

So... AUGMENTS!
