Avatars?

I don`t know if this has been brought up before, but if so, feel free to lock this thread!

 

Have you guys given thought into an avatar system for regular users? You know, like a little option to add a custom picture under their name and beside their post? It would be good to increase the diversity of the community!

I know one guy, Dmitry, had a weird green iguana for his avatar. I think he was one of the first admins. Besides that, the only other avatars I have seen on Tanki are those of staff members, testers, and map makers.

Oh yeah! He had a picture of an iguana...

He also had more buttons other than PM and Profile.

I like this idea, add a bit more diversity to the tanki forum, and you can easily recognize when someone you know posts ;)

Well the Tanki staff has avatars to spot them easily, if all had some, it wouldn't be easy to see a official post for example.

In other forums staff members are given his/her title under the name, in some easy-to-see colour. Avatars would be a nice touch and make it easier to recognize people :)

It wouldn't be difficult. The Green man avatars we have now can just be for the administration and staff, but just other avatars for normal people like us. Any impersonation can be a bannable offence.

Two comments:

 

First of all, if you really can not recognize someone by their name, then how do you expect to recognize them when they constantly change their avatar. (If you seriously cant recognize people by their name, then that is just a fail...)

 

Finley, putting your banner at the bottom of your post would be really annoying, and if I was a mod I would most likely ban you for flood.
