Hey guys, remember I suggested replacing the ranks with others? Well, if you dont, it was a rather old post. Anyway, I am suggesting replacing the rank griefrieter (Spelling??) with my new Idea, (It is a rank in the United States Army, but it is really good.) The rank: Private First Class. My other Idea was Specialist, and if you like that better, vote for it. ranger

Itis spelled "Gefreiter". It is a german, austrian or switzerland rank (used in german speaking countries). Its similar to the US private.

I was Gefreiter while i was in the Austrian Army. So I like this rank

Neat! You were in the Austrian Army? Thats soo cool. I want to be in my countries army, and to be a Captain in it. (My clans leader is a Captain in this game, soon to be major) Anyway, I like the other better cause it sounds cooler, and I know what it means. (Cause Im American)

You are right. Gefreiter makes no sense at the english side. It´s also used at the german side and there it´s ok.

That´s not a horrible message. That´s History. In Austria and Germany it´s not allowed to use nazi symbols and it´s not allowed to glorify the Nazi´s. But its allowed and impotant to talk about Hitler and History. We live in a free country.

You are right when you scream "Hitler" to glorify him that´forbidden. You wont get to jail either, but you will have to pay a penalty.

But when you screm "Hitler is bad" it´s not forbidden. They can only prosecute you because of "breach of the peace" :lol:

Dude, relax. Your teacher is wrong. How are you supposed to discuss history without using Hitlers name? :roll: Germany can't close their eyes and pretend the nazi rule never was. To learn from that periods horrible mistakes we need to be able to write and talk about it.

 

Doing the Hitler salute and chant his name in the streets is of course an offense, but that is a whole other thing.

Well, I think that it should be replaced, personally. I dont particulary care, because, you guessed it, Im not near that rank. Still, I think it is a good idea to change it, because I dont think that a German rank should be on a US server.

The rank system in TankiOnline is a combination of perhaps most of the world's military terms. It consists of terms from the Army, navy and the air force. :P I believe its perfectly fine the way it is.

You aren´t exactly right. On the english server all ranks that exist are used in english speaking countries exept "Gefreiter". Gefreiter is a German rank and isn´t used in any english speaking country. When you look at the german server they also only use ranks which are used in german speaking countries. (Exept Neuling which means Beginner. That´s no rank at all :lol:)

where does warrant officers come from?

Epic bump! WO comes from the British Army I think, it is the highest rank that isn't an officer as far as I can remember. However, there isn't 5 of them, just WO First class I believe.

Agree with kool, the ranks are perfect the way they are now.

In future there will be also 3 new ranks.

Unnecessary to change the Gefreiter to something else. :-)

About the three new ranks, Field Marshall, Commander, and Generalissimo, where do those ranks come from?

 

I've heard of Commander before but not much of the other two.
