map making contest-idea

I have an idea that there should be a map making contest. Devlopers will choose best 10. And then there should be a poll on forum for the winners. 3 best maps will be added in the game.

I make this topic because there is only a few diifernt maps at my rank. Everyon play silence and moon silence.

lats say there are 10 maps avible for my rank:

2 of them are full

4 of them are silence or moon silence

1 of them is iran

1 of them is serponov (not sure about name)

2 of them are with 0 mambers

Oh nice. I guess it doesn't have to be coded or in 3D either. Some people can simply give a drawing and give detailed descriptions maybe for the people who don't want to download/install any fancy tools. That way we can include everyone so we don't miss out on any key ideas etc. that they might hold- the people who can think of good ideas, but don't have the ability to implement them currently.

 

But true, nice idea. I see the list of maps that are playable, but only few are actually played.

Precisely. So maybe some can be detailed descriptions along with a hand-drawn map of it along with its props etc. Some may be good at hand-drawing, some at Computers, and some typing their own article of what the map they're thinking of consists of etc. If they do this then they can attract a bigger crowd, more submissions, and more popular map. I actually like big maps, but not something like Dusseldorf. Maybe something like Serpuhov, Kungur, and Bobruisk. However, those are just a few.

I doubt though many people know how to scratch build a map though without taking an existing design and editing it. If this does become a contest, they'll only be a handful of players able to even create a map let alone make one that is to a high standard

for a buildind they could draw just a sqouare and write inside it building and then the map creators will make a building

That would be too easy, contests bring out the talents in the community and if this happened, there would be no challenge

Oh true. But I wasn't meaning those 5 second drawings. I was looking forward to people who actually took time with their drawings. The ones that added detail etc.

contest is a good idea but 10 winners is abit too much... devs won't be able to make 10 maps that fast

They won't make them they will just give us that players give to them. And then we will choose 3 of them which will they made and become part if the game
