Player "unavailable" Tag in Battle Stats

Suggestion:

All the players who are on pause during a game be 'marked' as inactive by a temporary name strike-through or colour differentiation on the scoreboard that can be seen by everyone in that game and if desired, even publicly through the battle view section of the lobby. This may be extended to include players who have terminated their browser session, but are still occupying a slot in the battle view.

To make it more effective, there can be a "Pause time" field against every player on the scoreboard which will capture the amount of time that player has been on pause mode.

Furthermore, as @ELIZABETH1122 suggested, I think it's logical to restrict the total pause time a player can utilize in a battle. Like 5 minutes for a 15 minute battle; 10 minutes for a 30 minute one and so on.

EDIT 30 Mar 2016:

Also, if there is a reason the pause screen is designed to be transparent, I'm missing it. I think it should be so that when paused, a player should not be able to see the ongoing battle. The screen must be opaque and cover atleast 3/4th of battle screen including the top right corner. Adding to this, the ability to view the scoreboard during pause may be unnecessary too.

All these can make gameplay a lot more enjoyable for tankers by giving mults a tougher time.

I hate that. I don't know why that exists or hasn't been dealt with. Either players need to learn to leave the battle before closing their browser or the system needs to boot them automatically because nothing is worse than having a player that's gone, that you can't speak to, that no one will vote for, that you have to wait 5 minutes for them to receive the boot, in which amount of time the enemy could have scored some points because your team was short one player.

Good idea..That might prove to be somewhat useful, idk...

That was done by Tanki on purpose...And it's necessary...

Suppose I am in a battle with, say, 1000 score (Top player in battle)....suddenly I loose my internet...This means according to servers, I have closed browser without actually exiting the battle, but in actual, I have lost internet....

But I still have 2 minutes to quickly refresh my modem, and then refresh the page and get back in to the battle and start playing again.....

IF in case there was no such feature, think how much angry I would go over tanki for not saving my hard earned score...

This is a most excellent idea!  Might I further suggest, that the Park mode needs attenuating in some way.  I have no problem with players that from time to time need, the bathroom within a day, answer the phone or door.  I have no problem with players changing equipment, however It is being misused for tactical advantage.  I suggest that the total time allotted for a Time out park, becomes the Total time out per 15 minute slot or game.  It does not take 4 odd minutes to change equipment on each occasion.  Some players particularly in DM that have small numbers especially one on one, use the Park mode to protect a small lead in points or to frustrate a better or more equipped player.  This could be read as MULTing because of refusal to play.  This needs to be changed .  So a player can only Park up for a total of 4 minutes per game not 4 minutes every time thy die!

True. Same here. Enquired about this long back, but the staff response seemed to suggest that tanki does not view this as being a problem in the first place. It's (quoting them) "how it is". In other words, deal with it.

Yes, pause time needs rework! I did not add that here initially because there is an existing topic for it - here

I feel 5 minutes of total pause time is more than sufficient for a 15 minute battle; 10 for a 30 minute one ... and so on. I think I should mention this point in the OP.

Good point, at one point my router would randomly restart like in the middle of an intense Island CTF 100 flags and I did have 1-2k score. So I guess it makes sense.

If that is the case, then players need to learn to leave the battle when they are done playing for the time being.

In other words, deal with it.

Anything they don't have a response to or a solution for, they just say "deal with it" Drugs too OP? Buyers too OP? Kits too OP? Deal with it. ;)

-_-

What about also including the number of times the user go on pause? In that way, intentions are clear enough if the noob do this too many times?

If the pause time is actually restricted, this feature may be seen as redundant.

What is a N/A tag?

"N/A" means "not available".

If a player in a battle

- wents on Pause or

- is AFK (not hitting keys or chatting for 15 sec or longer)  or

- or does not spawn due to lag or whatever

THEN

-> there should be a little "N/A" tag (means "not available") in the battle statistics next to the players name.

Why is that usefull?

in XP/BP battles the players usually wait until the teams are at equal size; and often the do truely stop the battle and wait if a player gets AFK or lags out.

But they can not see if a player is AFK, except they drive next to him.

To have the means to simply KNOW if yo ushoudl stop or not, would help a lot.

today there are dialogs like

stop/cton!, 3

no 4, ro#

no, player xyz is AFK

oh... cton

He moved, go!

go +

no, cton, player QQBA does not spawn

-.-

*.......*

well, this would all be easier if we could see, who is acting and who not.
