Improoved MU display over tanks in battles

Problem:

In the heat of the battle I can not read all those tiny numbers for MU's on the screen (laptop, small screen).

The tanks move fast around me, my priority should be to fight the enemy instead of spending 5sec to get his stats..

 

 

Proposal:

  • Display MUs in color bars as well = way more intuitive and faster perception
    The color or MU bars shall be slightly different; but close enough to the original to be clearly visible at first glance and without distraction. The visual effect shall be noticed as 3,5 and not as 3+0,5.
  • quote the effective protection in % on the protective logos
    please use large (!) numbers:)
    It helps me nothing if I know he has Rino legacy, as I have no idea of the percentages it comes up with. I also dont want to calculate what M3 module + 7 MUs will result in.
    Edit: The protection rating in the TAB-statistics should stay (some thought I want to get rid of it - thats not the case)

ps: some % in my example are wrong, plsl dont mind. I saw no reason to pick the correct figures, as the overall principle should be undertandable with wrong figures as well

To be fair, your edits is harder to see rather than current ones+you cant press tab and see what you should wear in this battle with your idea.

Also players may need to search for their protections rather than just looking at tank or nick to get what you need.

Great idea. As a comparison to right now, it is very easy to tell what M of equipment they are using- 3 out of 3 bars is very simple to see, especially compared to having to read x/50 for MUs. If it was the proper portion of the bar filled out, it would give a quick estimation of what their MUs are. I agree that we need to know how much % of protection people have from each turret, but that should be in the TAB menu. having it in the MU bar makes it more confusing.

The protection values in the TAB-statistics should stay, it was never ment to delete them (I've now added a line in the initial proposal to clearify that). so maybe we had a misundertanding here.

 

But your comment let me look again at the screenshots; and now I see that the white color for the text on the protection module pictures is not the best choice.. I can change that color later today maybe.

I agree too that the protection % should stay in the TAB menu.. and I never planned to take it away (I added a clearification to my initial post).

 

The reason why I like to have the protection % it in the V/R Stats displayed as well, is this:

- I enter a battle and check the TAB menu. I see all players have decent protection from my turret, so I know I have to switch. An Isida would be needed.. but what protections to the attackers have from ISida? Therefore I stick to my intial turret for a minute, play defense and monitor the incoming attackers (V/R statistics over tanks).

- Then I decide about my turret.

- But if there are just the logos of the protection without a direct percentage, then I have to know all that percentages by heart. Well.. I dont know all of the new ones and less of the legacy ones. And I bet many tankers (especially new ones) dont do either.

 

 

 

ps:

It would be cool, if the garage would feature the TAB-like statistics too, and if I click on a turret in my garage I can check the protections of the enemy against my selected turret - right in the garage, before equipping it. But thats another story ;)

Would actually be better if the MUs were displayed like a score bar, or the battery symbol on most phones. It would be a long empty rectangle that is partially filled depending on the amount of upgrades the player has on the item. And colour coding could be used as well.

I mean, that by not seeing the % against all 4 turrets, the module looks overpowered (but is is not so bad overpowered, as the legacy modules hardly go over 150%).

 

The problem you wrote about is also significant.. I crafted an idea once for that.. let me dig it out..

You can see what protection they have against you by just pressing the tab button on your keyboard. It will show a number in yellow telling you the percentage of protection it has against you.

I know.. but my problem is that I have to know their protections before I am going to change my turret :)

Show exact % protection from other turrets in enemy modules

 

Do they have 5%? Do they have 30%? I can't know, my teammates also can't know how much protection someone has against me unless they know all the old paint modules out of their head. Make it possible for us to see how much protection they have against other wapeons aswell. With the new modules it's clear. You see if they have an M2/M3 + the amount of times they MU'd it.

I agree, but showing the other protections would potentially clutter up the interface. There needs to be a better solution, such as replacing the LGC modules with equivalent Triple modules and perhaps reducing the protection for some quad modules to an even level. E.g. a Full MU Lumberjack has 45/45/45/15, so instead it becomes 38/38/38/38.

This part was implemented. I don't think they'll add the numbers for your own modules (since most people remember approximately how much they have on each module), while the suggestion for MU colour bars is no longer applicable since the MU display was simplified into gear score.
