It has happened many times by now that a player wants to plant a couple of mines and accidentally clicks the '6' key instead of '5'. My idea is to have a way to lock the '6' key. It can be that you have to press the 'L' key in order to lock it and 'U' key in order to unlock it, or simply have an auto-lock on golds and when clicking six, you'll have to confirm that you want to want to drop the gold.

Well, nothing would happen because you need to press the key once for every gold/supply. So by holding down the 6 key you'll just drop 1 gold. And by holding down 5 you'll place one mine.

Players (like me) are often tempted to press the numbers 1-5 during battles, especially in times we are looking to save them. Even though I force myself not to use drugs, there is a second just before I die where I quickly drug the repair kit, or double armour. You get the picture. I think a feature which can make sure you don't press the number would be handy, because it's very annoying when you start drugging only to later realise you needed the drugs.

 

I think the same thing should apply with Gold Boxes. I just received some from the giveaway for 1200 kills and I haven't been in a single drugs-allowed battle today because I was that scared of accidentally dropping a gold (which I want to save). I think a feature that can quickly allow you to hide a certain drug would be amazing.

 

It doesn't take long to add into the game, is easy to handle during battles (maybe its very own icon during battles) and allows players to freely play without the pressure of trying not to press 1-5, or trying very hard not to press 6 and accidentally drop a gold. I think the fact that being cautious and trying not to press 6 really changes the way we play.

You can use the keyboard control change dialog in the settings menu to alter your controls.. and so you can easily disable yourself from using supplies accidentally.
