Silence is a map which is almost played by everyone or have visited by almost everyone. It's so famous that we can find plenty of battles of this map.

Its a gorgeous map which can be played with almost using every single combo. Sniping can be done pretty well and low range gun can also be played here. Before the Update 220 there were 2 versions of this map available, Silence and Silence II but now there is only one Silence, a combination of both. The map will be explained further, separately.

Team Battles in Silence, Before and After

 

The Reds

 

Before : Reds were always being neglected by blues. Blues use to camp on the top and blow up red tanks on the Red territory from their base if there is anyone camping on the top base cliff. Red had a very poor defensive power. They always used to lose the Gold Boxes and Crystal Boxes, especially if the Gold Box on the long ramp area, Blues had the 90%. They just had a platform around their flag and almost everything can be seen except that. The reds had a poor defensive system, but had a nice attacking approach.

 

Now : Now, the reds have a similar defensive mechanism compared to Blues, and the attacking approach also has being increased after the update so that everything is balanced. A bridge in the red base has been added which shows now that red got a chance of camping a little bit higher. The old flat ramp has been changed and the Crystal Boxes and Gold Boxes fall to the ramp start at the red side. They also got the chance of shooting the blue opponents by being in ramp, and take cover while in the ramp too, which has become a great benefit for them. Reds now can guard their base more suitably. But the best whip hand they got is that now they can go through three ways not two. Through The ramp located in the middle of the map, they can get into opponents lower base, and the rusty pipe on the right side (view from the blue base) of the 3 small ramps is broken at one end, which gives a benefit for red to sneak to blue top base quickly.

However, there's still some difficulties for red to go up from the left ramp (in red team view) because blues can shoot from behind. So reds might be better team up themselves and find somebody to sacrifice in order to get up there. Besides that, blues can put mines in the middle ramp to be obstacles and gain some precious time before the reds can come up and attack.

 

The Blues

 

Before : It was the merry old days of the Blues and they were stronger than the red. It was entertaining for the snipers and long range turret favorers, since the blues had a plenty of good camping spots. They could sit at the cliff of the blue upper base and could turn the red base into an massive bloodbath ( No blood to be seen though). And as the crystal boxes fell only to their base, the Blue team players had a good profit margin, and they also had a 90% chance of them getting Gold Box at long ramp area. Isida’s could easily sit at ramp and move back and could destruct the opposing team members easily.

 

After :  After the update blues lost most of their benefits, specially the camping spot at the cliff of their base. Now there is only a little space remaining from the huge camp spot, where there is room for only one camper. The long ramp is now changed as told above. So the chances of catching crystals and Gold Boxes have been set equal to both teams. And now, there is only one advantage and it is that they got a little space at the back of their bases, where they can camp, which links the lower and upper base. The Blues got an advantage if they have the Red flag in hands and if the Red has the Blue flag, then the blue team can protect flag guy at the newly added space at the back. The Blues also got big disadvantage that red can come up through middle ramp. For this reason there have to be someone guard that place, or even mines could work. Now the Blue Snipers who used to camp at this spot cannot camp anymore. If they do so and evoke the anger of the reds then the Reds can come and can destruct the Sniper easily.

 

Best Camping Spots

 

1. Blue Crew's Camping Spots

 

a. This Blue territory camping spot can be used to shoot down the enemies who dares to enter the lower base.

b. The good old camping spot of the Blues. You can almost shoot everyone who is not undercover.

2. Red Crew's Camping Spots

 

a. One of the best new added advantage spot for the Red's where you can shoot the lower base opponents. But note that you are vulnerable to the blues, they can finish you too.

b. The camp bridge of the Red's. This spot can be used to take cover and shoot the opponents without being seen much. Just take cover until your turret is loaded fully, don't make the Blue's spot you.

c. The good old spot of the shaft. Shaft users used to blast off the opponents moving in the top ramp, the ramp to the higher blue base. But now, the Shaft's have more chances of blasting off since you could shoot the Blue's who are coming down to the Red base too.

Strategies 

 

Silence is available in all 4 battle modes, CTF, TDM, DM & CP. But the most common of all is CTF, which is favored by almost everyone who plays on Silence. TDM's of silence comes second, they are found in medium amounts while DM and CP battles are rare. DM's are found in least amounts while CP battles which was added after the Update 220 is almost never seen. So without further do, lets start learning new + old strategies which can be done in silence.

 

1. Hide, Come n' Shoot

 

This is a commonly used and a old strategy in all maps, but today we will show the best spots for that in Silence. But first make sure that you won't show much of yourself while coming out to shoot. So point your turret to the correct position using the back of your hull. Change your turret and hull in a way that suits you, and in a way that gives you more protection

This trick is mostly useful in Team battles since you have protection from the team mates, while in DM's you will get easily get destroyed from behind since all are foes.

 

 

1. Take cover, come up shoot, go back.

Since this is an old technique, we would not be talking much about this. This can be done by hiding beside the walls, almost any. Few Examples :

2. Pro Miner

Adding mines is simple, but if you do not know the appropriate place for mine placing, then you are a drug waster. 10 Mines = 500 Crystals, so its like giving off your crystals for nothing. So here are some techniques that you can use, to use mines in a more efficient and in a more useful way.

 

a. Double Kills, Up and Down.

 

So after the new update, you could see some small openings in some of the ramps. It is transparent but it got a thin surface that prevents you from falling through or either shooting through it. So that makes you think that it is just a design. But no, you are wrong! If you add mines on top of the surface in a row and if your opponent goes under the ramp and touches the transparent opening, he is DOOMED! So think about it, If you add a few several mines in a row, you could easily kill the enemy who is travelling toward you through the ramp and also the one who is hiding inside the ramp.

 

So here is it more clearly. You add mines in a row in the ramp, So that the foe that comes through the ramp will be killed, and the the one under, touching the opening gets killed.

Note : This trick works only in Team Battle modes, specially in CTF & TDM battles.

 

b. No entering our base!

 

So after the massive rework of silence, the Red team which had only 2 ways of entering the enemy base, now got their ways doubled by having 4 ways of entering the Blue territory. But that does not mean that only the Red team can make use of it, the Blue team could also use the newly added ramps to get to the Red territory too. So we will be discussing the best spots to protect your team territory, by avoiding your foes entering.

The mine 1 and 2 is for the enemies who come through those ramps. But in case they escape that we have a Plan B, the mine 3 is added in the middle so that the enemy cannot come to the entire base though they escaped mine & 2.

 

3. Ramp Tricks (Whizclips, Farhan55 & Gefordeon)

 

There is another addition to the tactics of the blue team. You can snipe at tanks coming up this ramp:

The steps to do it are:

 

1) Go to the white wall in the famous sniping spot of silence.

2) Try to get on it leaning more to the left side, until you are completely leaning to the left.

3) Use the PgUp option to change the camera view, and shoot the enemies coming up the ramp!

Main Gold Box drop Zone

 

It's true that Gold Boxes fall randomly, but still there is a higher percentage of chance of a Gold Box falling in the long ramp of Silence.


 

Rework after the Blog publish

 

There is one problem and it is that the map Silence has been reworked again. Anyway the tricks above will work the same way but with small differences. Note that Red team capacities are weakened to balance the sides.

 

These parts of the map has been reworked again :

 

a. Earlier the reds could sneak under the small ramps and shoot, and it was a great drug spot, specially for Thunder. But now, It is not easier as before to sneak in, the pathway has been blocked.

b. The boxes near the blue base flag has been edited. It has been made small.

c. The small divide which was unable to be gone pass through has been made bigger. And now a tanker can move through the divide.

I don't think that the reds have a poorly defense. If a heavy hull with freeze stays behind the house, next to the red flag then the blues will have to face many problems.

Yes but before it had no defensive base. But now there is bridge about what we told.
