What is Tanki all about?

Whatever you said, I guarantee that Tanki is more than just that. Tanki Online is more than just a free online game. And if you haven't truly appreciated that, maybe you haven't been getting the most out of Tanki as an experience.

So how do you maximise your Tanki experience?

Skill
No game is fun if you are constantly being beaten by other players who are deftly outplaying you, creeping up on your blind side while you are distracted, or destroying your tank from a distance before you have time to even blink. But no one starts pro, so how do you get that skill that will set you apart and above everyone else?

  • Practice makes perfect, and this is no exception. There is no substitute to simply playing the game and learning from all your experiences, both good and bad. Gradually, you will learn how to master the controls and camera, learn the strengths and weaknesses of the turrets and hulls, and learn all the tricks for the maps. This may be a slow process, where you will face many setbacks, but bear in mind that ultimately you will improve to be a formidable opponent to face.
  • To supplement practice, there are other ways to learn about gameplay. Asking questions, reading the guides published by the players, and of course watching YouTube. Many of the experienced players have a YouTube account, where they share with you instructive gameplay and depart their valuable advice.

Part of being skilled is also maintaining a brilliant garage. Skill will earn you crystals, and spending them wisely will give you a formidable garage, even without pumping cash into the game.

Music
It is proven that music improves your concentration in the game. Particular types of music can help you to get in the 'zone', that gaming mindset. This will both improve your game, and make your gaming experience more enjoyable. Of course, I cannot say which music will suit you best, since tastes vary. But if in doubt, google it! Plenty will come up!

Feel free to share what you enjoy below in the comments!

Graphics and Sound
Obviously we would all like to play on maximum graphics, but never if you have to play with lag. I cannot afford the best gear, so I play on the absolute minimum settings, but this doesn't take anything away from the fun of the game. One particular setting you should keep on if you can however, is the shadows. This can make it much easier to spot enemy tanks and predicting when they will land after jumping. It also allows you to see gold boxes before they enter your direct field of view! Other graphics options are less important - in fact, jazzing up the maps may even take your focus off the game!

Sound-wise, definitely keep it on. Not only will this make gameplay more enjoyable and dynamic, but hearing the sound of a railgun charging up its shot, or the sound of a Rico projectile hitting its target can improve your awareness of what's going on and can thus make you play better.

Friends
Make friends.

Tanki is very much a social game, and having friends will mean you can have fun ranking up together, supporting each other when in need, or simply just chatting online.

The English Community
This very forum is a great place to browse and get to know the more predominant players in the English community. Here you will find tips and tricks to improve, various discussions on all aspects of the game, fun articles to read and contests to win crystals! And above all it's a great place to meet new friends!

Staff
If you really love the game, become a devoted member of staff. You need to be mature, have the right personal traits and characteristics, and you must be willing to put in the time and hard work. But ultimately this means you are giving back to the game which you enjoy, and you get paid too, which will boost the strength of your garage.

Clans and Cybersport
Tanki is indeed a very competitive game, and if you have friends, why not start or join a clan together? This is a great way to improve your skills, and if you do get really good... tournaments can win you fame and exclusive prizes!

Respect
Last but not least, don't forget to show respect to all other players (don't cringe), no matter whether you know them or not. Keeping the game a friendly and clean place will improve the experience for everyone.

Thanks for reading! Any comments are appreciated!

Ugh, my skill isn't that good yet =/

Music? I just look up on YouTube "Best songs" and get 2 hour videos with amazing music :D

I usually play with everything on, and still get 60 FPS, the problem is meh PING, also, you can't enable sound if you are listening to music, the two will ruin each other, I prefer music, much more exciting ^_^

I have many great friends, even if they aren't on my friends list, they are still my friends (most people think that you need to be on the list, which isn't true)

The English community is a wonderful place to get interested in the game!

 Still a candidate

Sadly, I am not that into CS..

Always and forever :)

Thank you Kirby for such work of art :)

i have a tip. this is how i became one of the first to turret turn at my ranks:

just do it!!!

its as easy as it sounds: i was just at the level of master seargent wehn i made up my mind i wanna play like pros.

so i made it a point to always turn my turret while playing. initially i used to stay station ary while moving my turret and after getting comfortable with it i started to move around slowly with my turret slowly and two ranks later i got the hang of it!

many people think the skill just comes to you. that is true but when u finally take a step to actually work on it it comes to you faster. i still see people who cant turn their turret at my rank(WO4) as they never actually made the choice to starting practicing like that. so they struglle when they play with pros.
