reduce pause time on tdm

My idea is about that to limit the possibility of pausing the game in TDM battles, or abolish it completely, because some players abused it in some way. It mostly happens at very end of the battle, where one team completely agrees between themselves to use that pause time as an advantage to win the game like that. As they're visual absent during the pause time, other team cannot kill any of them and the battle ends with their victory. I don't play often in TDM battles, but when I do I perceive that experience most of the times.
Please support this idea if you agree with me, if not then explain why not, and thanks for paying an attention and reading this.

So what happens when you stop pressing keys on your keyboard - do you instantly get kicked?! :blink:

No, if a player is inactive for 5 mins he gets kicked like usual, but I am talking about to reduce pause, because to prevent those moments where the loosing team ran out of kills.

This is a tough problem to solve, so I suggest not solving it. :)

The solution would be complicated, like allow one pause per half an hour, allow only half the team to be able to pause simultaneously, etc. It is going to be very tough to figure out the optimum solution.

 

If you want the devs to solve this problem, everybody quit playing TDM. Then they have to do something about it.

Actually I think there should be MORE pause time if anything.

 

If somebody gets up from their keyboard and has to go take out the garbage or do laundry that may take over 5 minutes. Or if you're like me and your mom calls you upstairs to give  you a lecture you really don't want to hear but you have to anyway.

 

I really don't think it would be a good idea to reduce the pause time, in response to this thread.

 

Here are some more reasons why I don't think it is a good idea:

 

 

 

 

I got to the washroom for 5 minutes in a 1 hour battle because it's one hour, then I get kicked for using the washroom. You basically took away my right to use the washroom.

This is also an issue in which reducing the pause time would not be a good idea. Some people may need to use the washroom in a battle from 30 minutes to an hour, and maybe they can't wait.

 

30 sec or 1 minute is enough

No actually that wouldn't be even close to enough. Say you got a text and you pressed pause, then you answer the text and when you get back you've been kicked? Or if you need to look up something real quick or even something as simple as getting something from another room/floor.

The problem is real, but the solution is not very good, because some players need that pause time.

 

So, how about this: If the majority of the players have activated the pause button, their tank is visible and susceptible to attack.

(This might be how it works in the future in all modes, no matter how many players have it activated, where your tank spawns even if the pause button is on. IMO, this might solve some mult issues, who knows?)

Actually, maybe if we could get the rewards to be distributed like exp points, we could get rid of pausing. You would leave with your rewards and join the same or another battle later.

 

The problem with this solution though is that reward distribution is so heavily biased toward the winner that losers will never finish a battle if it gets implemented. As long as the devs think the reward distribution is fair, I think it is fair to leave lying dogs lie.

I wanted to suggest to increase the pause time because it is really necessary in some time, but after I read this, I will tell you something:

 

Reducing pause time in TDM on 1 min would get to catastrophy. Then players won't be able to change equipments right in battles, or upgrade it, and the trouble is 1 min is not enough to take a break, maybe some players wants to get up for something (maybe to go to the bathroom) and what will they do? Leave the battle? No definitely not. Bad idea.

  • Once when I was in a Combe TDM, one v.s four, I used this method so my team, to say the truth me, wouldn't lose the battle.

No you didn't understand it well. I don't want to reduce the pause time, I don't know why MAFIOZA121 changed the title. I want to remove the pause time, not in case that when players stop moving the get disconnected immediately <-- not that, in case that they cannot be visual absent in the game, I mean when they press P key, they normally stay in the battle, even if someone kill them they normally respawn. That I meant when I said "remove". Of course if players are inactive for 5mins in that way, then they get disconnected. And btw change back title to the "remove pause time in TDM battles".

The Developers will not remove pause time, sorry.

 

What about bathroom breaks? What about small AFK moments? Sorry, but this idea is not practical.

Lol. I am one such person who abused this.

Back when I USED to play TDM, if a take-over happens where 5-6 hardcore druggers come in and start drugging non-stop, I'd tell everyone on my team to do this.

 

But that was a LONG time ago when Smart Cooldowns did not exist. So, what, 2012-13-ish or something?

I saved my team from certain doom, and raiders got a slap to the face.

 

Free-players find ways to win. B)

Pause for victory? Really? that has happened 0 times in my tanki career.

I did for 10 times :D

The best way to get rid of raiders is mult. However anyway... :(

Another way is stopping attack and doing full defence.

This one can be effective ıf your team will listen you.

 

 

But there is an another tactic and this one will safe a big amount of your crystals. The best mode ever: DM
