Wasp + inverted control = SW bug

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Fault description:

My wasp _turns_normal_ speed from full left to full right when driving _forwards_

My wasp _turns_delayed_ from full left to full right when I drive it _backwards_

This is only when "inverted controls" are ON

When I deactivate "inverted controls" I use the same keys and it works perfect.

Guys: this is not keyboard ghosting!

Video: Please find a video below in this thread! (-> link)

Test Scenario 1:

- I use a wasp M2 (same test with Wasp M0.. also glichy)

- inverted controls = on

- I drive my wasp backwards and additionaly hit left/right/left/right in fast sequence to drive narrow snake lines

-> then there is a delay in changing directions. So my wasp drives no snake likes, but a CIRCLE.

- It feels like if I drive a full speed circle backwards to the left - and then turn to backwards right (or vice versa) - there is a delay before my tank changes direction. So for a pretty anoying moment it drives straight. But only when inverted controls are on.

TestScenario 2:

When I switch off inverted controls, and do the things from scenario 1,

my Wasp drives perfect snake lines.

Other things I've tried::

- No matter if I use cursor keys, numblock or AWSD.

- It only vanishes when I deactivate inverted controls.

-> So it is definitly a software problem in conjunction with "inverted Controls"

EDIT:

Statusupdate:

- made a video capturing the bahaviour

- received confirmation by other user

- adapted text in initial post, to make the fault more clear

please report back if you need more details

I just tested it and it was working normally for me. Are you sure you don't confuse the keys?

It's a small possibility, but you might have sticky keys enabled. Press the SHIFT button 6 times in a row continuously, and a new window will appear. You can turn it off there (click on the "no" button to turn it off).

Thanks for the test.I am sure it cant be sticky keys or something, as I use the same keys for both tests.

But I verfied.. sticky keys was off.

1) I turn my turret around to drive backside-forward

2) I hold down key for driving "backwards" and my wasp starts driving

3) while holding the backwards-driving key I push alernatingly left-right-left-right-left-right... which should lead to sneak lines

this works fine without inverted controls.. and very delayed with "non inverted controls".

As this setting in the tanki-settings is the only thing I hcange.. it has to be software.

EDIT:

I just tested it on a lower account with Wasp M0. Same there.

When dirving backwards on inverted controls the switch from left to right is delayed.. the fast-snakeline test fails.

No, it can't be software fault either: if it was Tanki's software fault, the same thing would happen to me as well; if it was your PC's software fault, how does it work with "inverted controls" disabled? It's not even logical, tanki options and your PC aren't connected to each others. Can you please provide a video?

Hi,

I had the impression that my wasp turns not as fast when I drive it backwards.

I found out that there seems to be a glitch about "inverted controls":

Guys - this is not ghosting.

When I deactivate "inverted controls" I use the same keys and it works perfect.

Test Scenario 1:

- I use a wasp M2

- inverted controls = on

- I drive my wasp backwards and additionaly hit left/right/left/right to drive snake lines

-> then there is a delay in changing directions. So my wasp drives no snake likes, but a CIRCLE.

TestScenario 2:

When I switch off inverted controls, my Wasp drives perfect snake lines.

No matter if I use cursor keys, numblock or AWSD

So it is definitly a software problem in conjunction with "inverted Controls"

please report back if you need more details

I think you must refresh your webpage ,clear some useless files or check your PC's control panel

Here is the video:

You should not watch it in fullscreen, as the upscaling eats details. Unfortunally I cant take a video with higher framerate, which makes the effect even more obvious

When you watch it closely, you can notice that the tank has a complete different timing when turning goes from left-to-right or from right-to-left in dependece on the inverted_control feature.

- with inverted controls = ON it turns slow..

- with inverted controls = OFF  it turns fast.

In order to have you know when I push turning keys, I have an Isida. Each time it lights up I changed direction (pushed a key for left or right)

description:

00:00 I start with inverted controls=on.

I go straigt and make curves. Everything perfect, the tank reacts instantly when it goes from a straight line to a curve.

Turning from "straight" to "left" and from straight to "right" is always good

00:20 I go straight and turn left-right-left-right... in fast sequence. The delay causes my tank to drive a circle.

(note: the direction of the circle is always the direction i turned first.. like it is stuck in turning this direction and takes tooo long to turn fully to the other direction)

00:33 I drive wide arcs. Each time the isida lights up, I hit the other direction.. and when you watch carefully, you can see the delay between hitting the key and the tank starting to turn (each time I swap from backwards-left to backwards-right and vice versa).

00:50 I switch inverted controls = OFF

01:00 I start driving backwards and alternate left/right/left/right fast. You can see how agile the wasp is now. No circling, no delays.. just perfect awsome agile... as now the inverted control is off.

01:11 I drive wide arcs. Each time the isida lights up, I hit the other direction.. and when you watch carefully, you can see how fast the wasp reacts (in comparism to delayed turning at 00:33)

01:39 I hit the wall as I am not used to non inverted controls xD

01:45 again fast snake lines.. all perfect.

01:50 activating inverde controls = ON

01:55 fast snake lines lead to a circle again.. wide arcs have definitly delay when changing from left to right or vice versa.

This is indeed interesting, and as far as I see it, is a bug. We appreciate your noticing it, and would greatly appreciate it if you filed a report here: Bugs & glitches. Seeing as how you have already stated you filed a report, I believe there is nothing left to be done but wait, and take this conversation to that topic if need be. While there is not much more to discuss, if you do discover any new issues, or specifics on the issue, be sure to let us know. :)
