Thanks to everyone who participated! There were many entries, but just a few standout ones...

In first place, winning 50,000 crystals, is @GoldRock:

In second place, winning 30,000 crystals, is @HUGHIY:

In third place, winning 20,000 crystals, is @fighter310:

A consolation prize of 10,000 crystals goes to @irfaan12 for his noteworthy entry. May I remind everyone for future contests to stick within the word limit...

Thanks again for participating and I hope you enjoyed it!

Whatever, Congrats

My entry was clearly just a list of ideas, not engaging to read in any way, and had all been suggested before, and was not unique in any way.

I will no longer support the Press section in any way shape or form.
Thank you for the opportunity
and bid you farewell

Why do you have to take it so hard?

Besides, the press section is not made up entirely of contests, so you can still support the other articles, right? ;)

First of all, I agree totally with the winning entry, GoldRock produced an exemplary presentation outlining future improvements to the game, an excellent cover letter to forward to the administration of Tanki for a real job on their team. I don’t wish to critique the other entries, though I must say organization of ideas, spelling, grammar, and punctuation were less than acceptable on the bulk of entries, including some of the winning entries.

If I may critique Kirby2008 as well in the organization of his organization of ideas, and lack of clear direction as to the object of the contest, and seemingly misdirection of asking contestants to think outside the box and be creative as well as the misnomer of the title of the contest, as it is obvious from the results that the contest was in no way regarding a statement of what you would do if you had the chance to be a Dev for a Day to do as you wish whilst addressing current problems, future plans and making the game more popular.

To answer your observation Lhamster,

No, I don’t feel like a sore loser, but a winner who has been overlooked by a judging committee that judged the contest based on a misleading, ill represented, and poorly organized contest.

My statement regarding my decision to not participate in the press section comes from a history of contests being held in this manner with a re-occurring theme that has left an unpleasant feeling that I wish no longer to endure being subjected to.

Sincerely,

Swede1

I thought I addressed your concerns privately, but apparently not. The direction was clear, it stated clearly the quality of ideas AND your writing quality were both important factors.

Your argument seems to be based on the fact that your ideas were the best. I have said it, and I will say it again - your entry was a good one, with some creative ideas that certainly appease the players. However, your writing quality was poor to me. It's not just about no grammatical mistakes as you keep on saying - to me it read too much like a list. It didn't read or flow coherently as much as some of the other entries. Opinions may differ, but unfortunately judging a writing contest can never be done without a degree of subjectivity. If you can't deal with this, I suggest you avoid all contests. There is no reason as to why any of us would deliberately choose a worse entry over a better one.

If you don't wish to support the press, that's ok :) Wipe your tears and let's all move on.

Excuse me,

First of all, you did address my concerns privately, and I accepted them.

I merely reiterated those feelings here stating my apparent, poor quality of ideas and penmanship to those who felt my entry was worthy of this contest as the reason for my loss, and reason for my future abstinence from the press section, and wished everyone well.

I only publicly addressed my opinions in response to Lhamsters personal attack of my character and maturity.

Obviously there is a difference of opinion on the subjectivity of the judging of competitions in the forum of Tankionline.

Tankionline is an award winning MMOG platform and the system of judging international competitions within the game forum should be done in regulated professional manner.

You are excused ;) That's great, thank you for understanding. Your entry was definitely a good one, and on a different day maybe it would have won a prize.

Indeed, it should be done professionally, and we will continue to do so to the best of our ability. Hopefully you decide to enter again, if not that's a shame and we wish you the best!
