Additional Feature to Micro-Upgrades

With the recent change in micro-upgrades, we can now use an eqiupment even while it is being micro-upgraded. My idea is to allow multiple steps in a parameter to be upgraded in one go.

For example, there are 25 steps in protection of M2 hornet. Instead of upgrading each step one by one, I can select an option to MU say,all 25 steps at once. The total cost of MU'ing all steps is 63320 crystals. Since I am doing all in one go, the cost will be slightly less, say around 62500.

As for the delay, the total delay is 7,834. But with all in one go, I will have to wait for lesser time, say 7,000. The instant MU,also will cost less than original,say 81,00.

I can also upgrade less than 25 steps at a time.

 

Advantages:

The main advantage is for those who cannot afford to log in every 2-3 hours to MU their equipment. With this being implemented, you just have to log in once and set all steps to upgrade.

 

Disadvantages:

When all steps (or multiple steps) are being upgraded, you will have to play with low (or no) MU's. So, while some players will have 150+ MU on their Hornets within a few hours, you will have to wait much longer and play with stock M2 till then. In my opinion, this disadvantage has comparitvely effect than its counter advantage.

 

Technical Aspects:

In this section, I will add some minor details to cover up any flaws. Feel free to analyse the idea and come up with solutions to any flaws.

1. I realised that this might give an unfair advantage in sales. Here's how: Imagine that there is a sale on MU's and only 5 hours are left of the sale. Now, two people want to MU their protection by, say,10 steps. Assume that each step takes an hour to complete. Let's say person A does it step by step while B does it in one go. Obviously, after 5 steps, A will realise that he now cannot make use of sale while B will get all 10 steps at half prize.

The solution: If there is a sale which gets over in 'X' time, you cannot use Multiple MU option for parameters whose delay time exceeds that of the sale.

The cost and delay time should, in fact, be more than the sum of individual step cost and delay time ~

Good idea, except the price of the micro upgrades will not be cheaper, and you are just applying the micro upgrades in advance.

It doesn't make sense. The wait time for an upgrade to take effect is a disadvantage (or payment) for having the privilege of upgraded equipment. If you want to wait less, you pay more. If you are suggesting an option to get full MUs at once, it will be a massive convenience, therefore it needs to either take a long time or be a lot more expensive than all of the MUs separately. Otherwise what's the point of waiting for the upgrades or doing them one by one when you can just save up and buy them all at once for less cost?

MAFIOZA121, people earn some hundred, or maybe, thousands crystals per day. When they go to MU (usually at the end of the day), some hundred crystals needed for MU'ing doesn't seem like much so they MU it. That's psychology.

On other hand, say one wants to go from 1-15 steps in one go. It will cost anywhere from 20k-80k (I'm talking about M2's... M3's will obviously cost more). Seeing such a big number deters many tankers.

Anyway, the delay time for those 15 steps in one go should be (slightly less, IMO) than the sum of individual delay times.

Basically, the motive of my idea is to help those who can't log in every few hours to check if MU is finished and do next MU. They can just click the button once and come back after days to see their MU's done.

Nope. It's not a big change. It's basically allowing people upgrade next step automatically. You don't have to log in after every step to upgrade to next step. The mechanics of MU's will still remain the same.

i think that the only thing we may really consider here is the ability to stack micro-upgrades. no discount for buying them in bulk or such, that would just kill the concept of micro-upgrades. you just queue them without having to login for every step.
