Should Upvotes be unlimited per day?

ok i really don't get why there is a maximum amount of upvotes per day... i can understand downvotes but why upvotes  :unsure:  :wacko:  :blink:

What do you want upvotes to measure?  Any public opinion on the forum is already biased by the fact that a majority of players will never even look at the forum.  Most who do so will do so casually.  Giving unlimited upvotes will give more weight to people who use the forum more often but would be even less representative of the community as a whole.  Not sure if that would be better or not.  It seems pretty neutral.

I support this idea. It's like this on many sites, namely Facebook, Reddit, Youtube, among tons of other places that let you use likes or upvotes. Nowhere have I ever seen limited number of upvotes except for this forum. I believe it's meaningless to assign an arbitrary number of upvotes and thus limit the number of times you can agree with something. It might be a different story with negative votes, but with more positive votes means a more positive forum. :) Wouldn't you agree?

As Mafioza mentioned earlier, the limit is to make them more meaningful. I mean, com'on, you wouldn't like to see someone upvoting each and every post uselessly.

Moreover, the forum is not a social-networking or media site. Yes, we should believe in a positive community but there will be some who will just upvote without even reading the post. I know there's no point in doing that but we can call that as indirect spam.

An interesting idea, but I believe a more practical thing to get to first would be giving us the ability to change our vote, and that only three times. Such a change will help tankers who click the wrong button or change their opinion, but will not allow for spamming the vote boxes.

I wouldn't say, "unlimited", but maybe we can raise the amount, like instead of 10 we can have 25? If it were unlimited, it would make it useless. Flooders going around, upvoting every post.
