[Issue 4] Remembrance Day Poetry - 'Duty' (TWG)

DUTY

Guns blazing,

The battle raging.
Our quest for victory,
Will rewrite history.
The war is getting intense,
We must win at any expense.
Machine guns fire away,
Day after day after day.
Campsites set afire,
Our situation is dire.
There is fear in everyone’s eyes,
But a plan we must devise.
We must attack, we must hurry,
But we must try not to worry.
Until most have died,
The war will not subside.
There’s a sense of despair,
Blood and gore’s everywhere.
All that can be heard is gun shots,
On the other side, the enemy plots.
There is far too much bloodshed,
As another man drops dead,
And yet another man falls,
I know what to do, duty calls.
