A few stereotypes about Shaft I wish would die

Title says it all, no need for some fancy intro.

1. We're noobs with no skill

Okay, with me being a regular user of Shaft, though not as much as Hammer or Isida, I can debunk this. Imagine having a nice statue made of glass with a tactical nuke-launching cannon on it. That's a Hornet-Shaft. We're not all kill-obsessed self-centered noobs, we're long-range supporters.

2. We're kill-obsessed

Well, kinda, but mostly towards Wasps and other easy targets.

At least I'm not, I generally take out key defenses at the enemy base from a distance, and get no "thx shaft" or "nice shot". I'm not saying you should thank us for every kill, but you shouldn't just brush us off as self-centered.

3. We persistently wait you out at your position and kill you once the smallest pixel peeks out

Nah, we got better things to be doing.

Look, if you really want to avoid being targeted just don't enter our line of sight.

4. We always use heavy hulls and camp in high places for the best performance

Nope nope nope nope nope, I use Hornet.

High ground is always where the Railguns are dueling and the Shafts that DO use that tactic are.

We're usually covering key areas, like the cliffs and flag positions in Rio.

5. We're useless up close

Maybe in deathmatches, but if our teammates are merciful they usually rid us of our troubles.

Even at close range we have our strength in the form of Arcade shots. With Speed boost, we can usually fend off most attackers. With the exception of Firebirds, those things are terrible.

These are some common things said about us Shafts, feel free to discuss and debunk further in the comments below. Gute Naucht.

1. We're noobs with no skill - Shaft takes some insane skill and reflexes to use effectively, so if you say this I think that you are a bit jealous of our skills

2. We're kill-obsessed - A shaft can be a key part of the team in certain maps. They are often looked over but do help out alot

3. We persistently wait you out at your position and kill you once the smallest pixel peeks out - Well you can't move while scoping so this is kinda true, although I liked to move around while using shaft

4. We always use heavy hulls and camp in high places for the best performance - Not true. I found Viking and Hornet really effective as you could always run if needed. Maneuverability is still key while using shaft

5. We're useless up close - That is true i'm afraid

This is all coming from an ex-shaft user.

Man, doing well with Shaft in CTF does need skill, but people neglect that fact. Finding new sniping positions, blocking out check-points with lasers, killing off enemy defense, all in the midst of a lot of Firebirds, Isidas and Railgun targetting us just because we are a "noob Shaft". I have killed off enemy capturers COUNTLESS times. Also, I use Hornet a lot for Shaft too. In fact, I have ATTACKED with rapid arcade-to-scope shifts and got 3rd-4th like that.

It used to be the best turret ever, i was planning to get m4 in the future but luckily i didn't, the last update completely killed off any point of using it, developers know the statistics clearly show a massive decline in users, but they still think it was a necessary update

Shaft hardest to use weapon at generalismo and i hate it when they say that they got more skill by using rail -_-

Wrong, rail is the most easy to use weapon damn it -_-

is on 2nd place at easy to use after isida

just some easy aiming while with shaft you must struggle on all the map and most importantly, when in snipe mode you cant see enemy going at your back -_-(cowards)

On rail you got a full 360 view and that is not fair

Woah, I'm amazed that people still call shaft-users noobs.

After the laser update, I thought the noob-calling was extinct

Because that using shaft is much harder because they can see where we aim -_-

the biggest reason why we shaft players got more extinct,it screwed very much gameplay with shaft

This is all coming from an ex-shaft user.

With M2 Shaft-Hornet, you don't have to come to a dead stop before you enter sniping mode. What I do is before a few seconds before I enter my spot I enter sniping mode and let my tank's inertia put me at the final spot to snipe from. That way, more damage in shorter time.

Shaft is bae, sure it wont get you the 1k+ exp on 15 minutes poly cp that isida/viking will, in maps like arena people will just out dps tf out of you aaand it turns slower than the clock at the funeral, but i love it.

I made shaft my side gun after purchasing guardian, but still use it, and will use alot more after i get a mid-range hull.

With shaft its all about putting the damage in the right places in the right amounts.

Playing with shaft is mind games, a good shaft can camp countless spots effectively by being aware of his surroundings. a very good shaft always gets the laser where the action is, too many just wait for the action to come to them.

There are many, many very hard skills you need with shaft: jump shots, quick scopes on bad terrain, shooting that isida max damage right before you die so he wont get any self heal, trapping enemies between your laser and a deadend, surviving an attack by short range weapon by manipulating him on a trap, making enemies hit walls, miss, block their team, not enter important areas and the list goes on

And people hating on it because it can shoot long range with ease, well it's still hard to get kills on covered areas or on short range, and i don't see people complaining on how easy rico is to aim at mid range.

Calling shaft an easy weapon is a sign of ignorance. :(
