NATN-Mammoth

So you want to be a mammoth? Good, good…

The first step is learning to cope with slow movement speed and being a target.

To start, use the time you have getting from point A to point B wisely.

You could plan out your attack, watch enemy behavior, and give suppressive fire.

In short: The time between you pressing forward and releasing it can be used in a variety of ways.

In order to deal with how much of a target you’ll become, you need to address what tends to be your biggest problem.

A good pain would be an all-rounder’, like Dirty.

Good protection against Shafts, and decent protection from everything else.

Or you can go on a suicidal run first, then address the problem by choosing the paint in battle.

Now, rule one with Mammoth:

Never use Railgun, and never use anything short range unless on Island.

Smoky, Shaft, Thunder, and Twins are the preferred turrets for this behemoth.

Rule two: You are a heavy tank, don’t try to be an attacker. That flag will leave it’s post for about ten seconds before you explode violently and loose it. It is not impossible, but highly unlikely, that you will ever leave the enemy base.

Rule three: You can push everyone but a Titan.

Use this to your advantage.

Rule four: Don’t let anyone behind you.

You will regret it, that is your weakest point.

Rule five: Never quit.

Your teammates depend on you, even if you die, know that your efforts will be worth it.

And another thing, make your efforts worth something! Don’t just camp, make a distraction or draw their fire.

If you follow these steps and rules, you will be a valuable team-player in no time.

Good luck, and may Queen Gapulus bless your very existence.

I must say that I use Mammoth M2 with Firebird M1 in most maps and I love it! I prefer Firebird M1 instead of Ricochet M2 or Thunder M2. I am getting a close combat turret this sale, maybe M2 Freeze.

NATN's best article. Maybe for your next article, increase the length. Using different fonts and sizes for the headers would make it more pleasing to the eye - a pic of Mammoth would be nice too.

Good guide, though! Proper grammar, smart tips... You are probably NATN's best writer, I enjoy most of your topics.

As a big user of heavy hulls, I like this guide! However I have used railgun titan/mammoth in certain situations with success! On a map like stadium, I used my prodigi paint and snip-sniped all those puny hornet-rail users and easily eating all their shots for breakfast. Poly CP is good for heavy hull short range turret combo as long as there's a high density of players.
