[Issue 5] Guide: The Unknown Mult (TWG)

I had some difficulty deciding what my last article for a while would be like, would it be light hearted or dense? Would it be pointless or useful? Well, evidently I decided to be light heartened and pointless.  So here goes.

It is not common to see mults in battles now a days. They are everywhere, however people are beginning to notice the signs of a mult. You can no longer sit and eat chicken BACON and watch your team lose. It is now necessary to be more devious. Just a heads up: this type of multing requires use of one account, this is for trolling or helping out a friend. And so, without further ado; a guide to multing, the unknown mult.

Please note that this is not to be taken seriously. It is under the pretence of the more you know, the more you can counter this type of mult. Yeah, totally…

Using good Equipment:

One of the staples of multing was using m0’s and m1’s in m2 and m3 battles. It is very noticeable to have a mult in m0 hunter smoky with red paint. To counter this, use some of you better equipment. You have to be careful, with the ability to check ones profile, so you have to use a halfway decent combination. However, you can use the excuses of testing out new combinations, but more on excuses later.

Actually “Playing”

A mult is normally characterized by the lack of playing. Again, this has a tendency to be noticeable. Instead, you should use a ranged weapon, as it is easier to play and miss. You must attempt to play. Even if you only miss shots, you should still be playing. I would also like to mention that adding a few kills will make you seem legit. You have to actually seem legit. Making a few kills or returns, keeps you inconspicuous, whereas just sitting there is obvious. Always remember that you need to play the minimum, as it is harder to report a mult who is actually “playing”

Talk, A lot

We have all had that experience. We want to get out of a place, and one of our parents is ready to go with you, but wait, the other is in deep conversation, not to leave for another 10 minutes. Think about that type of talking, now replicate it in chat. Talk like there is no tomorrow. It is easy to get lost in conversation, not only that, but it shows that you are in the game. So while you are doing nothing, you like you are actually doing something.

Excuses

It is inevitable that someone will catch on to what you are doing. So, you must always have a few excuses up your sleeve to dissuade their ideas of reporting you, so here I have some sure fire ways to avoid problems…

  1. “Oh, srry, lag” Yes, the infamous lag excuse. However, nobody can tell when you are not slightly lagging. You don’t need to have massive lag to screw up a shot. Also, since lag is so common, it is easy to overlook that. This also allows you to begin to play worse.
  2. “I am his/her younger sibling” Marauding siblings are a pain, I would know, especially considering I am an only child. However, very few people know you in real life, and those who do probably won’t care as much. I can promise you that this works, having pranked one of my clan mates with this. I would like to mention that you need to think ahead when using this. You can’t chat with friends that much, not turn your turret. I know, shocking. I would recommend saying that you are in the bathroom, and he left the game open. Also, the side mention of strange bathroom noises helps.
  3. “My computer is not working” Again, very hard to tell whether or not you are lying. Similar to the younger sibling, lack of fine motor skills is good to show, and that allows your multing to go to higher heights. Redundancy, higher hights, good job… Anyways, computer problems or viruses is best. Moreover, they can’t say go fix it, because you can’t do that easily. However, this can not be used often, unless you have a Dell or HP, then it can be every few weeks. But besides that, this is a last resort.

A common theme is a lack of provability. Even if you do not use these excuses, try and keep it vague and hard to prove. You can not repeat many that often, so it is good to have a good repertoire of strong excuses. Ambiguity is your friend in this instance. Also, never admit to multing, always be indignant when being accused, it helps.

I am sorry that this is not as long as my usual ones, but I do not have that much time. As mentioned, this is my last article, and it is not my best, but I think it is a somewhat interesting, and it was fun to write. Well, I guess I hope you enjoyed this article. I wish you the best of luck, from real life to the game.

First.

This is a great topic. I'm unsure of the point (which is probably because I skim read it), but it has some good points about multing in general, and is also a bit funny.

Good job, I'll miss your writing, and GL IRL.
