History

Aleksandrovsk was founded on February 30th, 1999 by Alexander the Great’s ghost, which arose from the ground due to a large party that had gathered atop his final resting place. There were lots of people eating, drinking, and having fun, so he resisted the urge to chase them all away and instead joined in the festivities.

A lady approached him at the desert table and asked him what his name was. He had a giant blueberry muffin stuffed in his mouth, so he could only choke out “Aleksandrovsk.”  She laughed, patted him on the back, and apologized for asking him a question when his mouth was full.

Or, she would have patted his back, but he was a ghost, and her hand passed right through.

With a scream of shock and terror, the woman started a stampede of party-goers that left the area ruined. Alex had one more muffin and returned to his grave. Two years later, the spot was rediscovered by Vladimir Beletskiy, who decided to build a town there. It is rumored that Alexander the Great’s ghost helped him decide on where to put the buildings so that none of them wound up on his grave.

CP mode in Aleksandrovsk is tough because there is only one point, and it’s tougher than Polygon because the map is large and makes you drive a mile before you can get to the point. Using a Wasp here will greatly reduce the time and frustration of getting around.

When approaching the point, remember that there are four different routes to choose from:

Team Deathmatch

Aleksandrovsk is a great place to camp with a long-range turret and blast away at pedestrians. On the map below are the best places to camp:

Goldhunting: Find that Drop Zone!

NOTE: No matter the map or battle mode, you should always press the DELETE button as soon as you hear the Gold Box siren. You will have ten seconds to dart around, searching for the box’s drop zone. When you respawn, you will likely be dropped in wherever you haven’t already checked, and you will have all your supply cool-downs reset.

Aleksandrovsk has gold drop zones everywhere, but your best bet is to make a beeline for the hill as soon as you hear the siren. If the zone isn’t up there, you will be able to see the box from afar as it is falling.

A tip for duelists:

When dueling at Aleksandrovsk, your biggest challenge will be finding your opponent. The map is loaded with obstacles, so seeing him before he sees you is a nerve-racking undertaking.

You obviously shouldn’t drive down the open street, but you also shouldn’t go up onto the hill. It may seem like a safe place to hide, in among all the shrubs and buildings, but it is the first place your opponent will look for you because it is in the middle of the map. In fact, most of the duels on this map that I have participated in have ended with me winning. All I had to do was sit a distance away from the hill and snipe my opponent as he crossed it.

The best places to camp during a duel are the purple regions on the TDM map above.

Far better than the last one! Alexandrovsk is one of my favourite maps and quite popular in the lower WO ranks. I use only Wasp on it, so I agree about its importance with you, as well as the flag routes and as always the introduction is very humorous indeed. :)

Great map, but for some reason I haven played it for awhile. one thing, when I was like a first sarge I equipped Mammy M1 and Vulcan and sat in a the purple place near the blue flag and that the railroad points to and slaughtered my friends in a ctf! I also equipped viking Isida and sat next to the ramp that when you come down the flag is at your right and healed the friends and killed the enemies.

By the way, nice article, does duel mean XP\BP?

I don't understand why don't ppl play CP's here instead of the stupid polygon?! At my rank it is rare to find this map.

Even tho this map is very big, it doesn't lag.

Moreover on this map, any hull can take the gold unlike a poly CP where it will only be a dictator.

This map can have a potentially higher fund than poly since this map can accommodate 20 or (24) players which means more people quitting

This map is definitely a paradise for light hulls unlike poly CP where its only heavy hulls.

Therefore, pls fill the servers with Aleksandrovsk CP's instead of poly CP. Polygon definitely gets extremely boring after 10 mins. I can barely survive a 15 min Battle there .

Pls try out other maps instead of always sticking to island, polygon, noise, sandbox, hill and wave which are all just drug wars unless its a RU1 XP/BP

I played this map so much that I have a basic camping strategy I used from SGT up to now.

You might get top kills but not points unless it is a low-cap game or you go after the flag yourself.

Tiny dots = base mine placements

4-point star = camping spot

Thin harpoon line = direction and angles of attack from the camping position

My favorite part is going after my flag being held hostage.

don't ever leave the game and find the drop zone.

Very nice. History was very well-written, I dare say. Initially I wasn't very supportive of your overall ratings but after reading I realized that Viking and Hunter was better than Hornet in terms of its speed and health and above all the "map affinity".

I was laughing myself off when I saw your comments on the best route to attack. They were the same which forced me to believe that you had done that to ease the trouble of searching that map for some good routes. Really great job with this! Though I seldom read newspaper articles like I used to before you have been able to grab my attention and I will constantly be reading your works as soon as possible.

Please write up more articles like these and please keep using that humour of yours but not to the point of ruining the validity of your guide. Wishing luck on your future endeavors!

And if ever I am able to see this map and taste victory following your methods my words won't express my gratitude towards you.

I appreciate your effort and it is pretty good. Though the lines could do with some darkening ;)
