Dramatic Photo

 

The results are here.

 

The thing is, I think nearly all of the participants misunderstood my expectations.

Many of you submitted POTD-like pictures (rank-ups, goldboxes, old screenshots dug up, etc.) when I asked for...

 

Something striking and dramatic.

 

As for those of you who did understand and followed the contest rules, I just couldn't decide on any entries that were 'striking' enough to win the grand prize of 30k.

That being said, there were definitely some notable entries that had more to them than mere visual appeal, as I'd hoped.

They each win 22 000 crystals.

In the rules it said if you submitted more than one photo, I would take the last one. Your last one was not nearly as good as your first one, unfortunately

Sorry for being a sore loser, but how did and I not even get consolation prizes? What is so dramatic about @williew's photo? How is drawing with mines special? Everyone does it -_-

Max 2 consolations, and I liked their photos because they had some special aspects. I liked the thought in the holiday theme from phoenixes' entry, and the free running effect that williew's hard-to-capture screenshot had.

While yours was indeed very nice, I'd actually already seen many pictures looking nearly the same and so it sadly didn't strike me as original (but, again, it did look pretty good). There were also some slight improvements you could've made to let it be a bit more dramatic and distinct from the other Isida-chain-type of pics, like actually taking the picture with the beautiful skybox in the background which is pretty much what Rio is famous for. Instead, the back of the beach was the picturesque background. As for Zeus' entry, I honestly thought it wasn't worth even 5k. It was so basic, and relied completely on its caption. It was not a bad picture though. That being said, had I not been limited to only 2 consolations, I would definitely have decided on more.

Finally, to be clear: please don't be upset if you didn't earn any crystals despite how much time you might have put into your entries - but "the amount of work that I assume this person put into this photo compared to how much work the others probably did" was not one of the things I was judging.

I was just a bit ticked off since I didn't know your thoughts on why those consolations were chosen.
