Sound notification for when players join/leave battles

Recommended Posts

In the midst of a heated battle, the small written text announcing that a player just joined or left often goes unnoticed. If this was an audible notification, players can be more aware of who is joining and leaving and when. This may promote more balanced battles by helping players judge better - when to step up or slow the momentum of a battle. I don't see any disadvantages really.

Updates as per suggestions:

Update1:

People leave and join often in the first few minutes of a game (ideally should be that way?). When they start to do it at any other time, that's when teams need to be alerted. So maybe if the notification does not trigger in the first (say)5 minutes of a game, it can be less annoying and more useful?

Or maybe this can be just another option like the numerous graphic ones... let each player decide if it's worth the annoyance.

People leave and join quite often. I think it might become quite annoying after a while. On the other hand, good for format battles...

Players often join and leave and that could add an audible noise noisy because the battle hear noise as a person to join her become very boring.

Yeah, I agree it could - depending on the actual 'sound' and frequency.

Yea I completely agree with this but there would definitly have to be an option to switch the sound on/off

Nah mate! It is gonna be annoying, the sound. Plus, I don't see the problem in keeping an eye on the top right corner of the screen. I simply press the Tab button like every 2 minutes so that can keep us updated.

I have to agree with some players that the different audible sounds for new players and departing players will definitely be more annoying than a benefit.  There are enuf sounds that goes on during the battle which i already feel them to be unnecessary like the ranking up of players during battles.

Having announcements when a player enters the game, is essential in games with low numbers of players.  Sometimes a player is left as the sole player of either team and may have to wait a while for new entrants.  It is unreasonable to expect them to just stare at an unmoving screen just waiting for a new arrival.  Many players just mentally switch off at this point.  They are then surprised, after what might have been quite a wait, by a new entrant, who most probably also has read the profile of the lone player as well.  A double wamy.

That's a good example applicable here.

There should be a sound or notification when someone joins your battle so when you are in another tab you will know, if you are in the tanki tab with will not ring.
