Story of a Tanker

This is the story of how I came to know Tanki. This is all true, just names have been changed for privacy.

Woodley Pool, USA,  May 28,  2015

I look up. “It’s going to rain,” I said to @Davidb.com. “Hopefully not,” he says, “it would be the third time in a row”

Then the coach yelled, “13 and up, get ready!” then the boom of thunder, and the lifeguards yelling, “Thunder.”

“Really,” I said, “5 more minutes.” I then turn to @Davidb.com and say, “Can @CAPiano and I come over to your house? Mom went to pick up my brother from the gym and we have nowhere to go.”

“Yes, you can come over,” he said. “; @CJGuitar and @CAPiano are coming home with us.”

We walked to @Davidb.com’s house, talking about electric cars, Teslas and such.

*****

@Davidb.com’s home, USA,

“Welcome home, boys,” said @Davidb.com’s dad. “We got extras,” said @Davidb.com.

“I got to tell my mom where we are.” I said. I called my mom told her where we were, while @CAPiano got on their iMac and started playing http://www.coolmath-games.com.

@Davidb.com walked into another room while I looked at their rabit.

“Are you playing Tanki?” asked @Davidb.com’s dad. “Yes,” he replied.

“Tanki?” I asked as I walked into the other room, “what is that?” I stood beside @Davidb.com as he looked at the screen, 3 dull looking columns. He then clicked a button that I couldn’t see which change to a loading bar.

Suddenly, the screen came alive, in aerial view, of a tank. I didn’t know at the time that it was Aleksandrovsk. He drove around, got flags, died with the flag and change his equipment to a what looked liked a square with two sticks coming out the front of it, Twins.

“Do you want a turn?” @Davidb.com asked.

“Yes,” I said. I drove up to the center of the map only to see a strip come across my screen and the remains of my tank.

“You just got sniped by a Rail,” @Davidb.com said. “So that is what it was,” I said.

“Your mom is here,” said @Davidb.com’s dad. “Really?” I said, “so what is the name of that game again?”

“Tanki, T-A-N-K-I,” said @Davidb.com. “See you later,” said @Davidb.com

“Bye,” I said.

Over the next few days, I research Tanki on the Wiki, talked to Davidb.com, and watched V-LOG #48.

I asked my parents and they let me join. I got on my Samsung Chromebook and joined with the nickname

@CJGuitar”.  Got into the battle and started playing with a ping not going down below 600, and FPS not over 10, but I was happy.

Over the months I started reading the TO newspaper, watching the V-LOG, and thinking of joining the newspaper team.

I was one of the tankers who was sad the @hogree and Symon left. In July I upgraded my Chromebook to a HP EliteBook 8470p, which fixed the ping and FPS problem.

I was one of the many tankers who got very excited when the V-LOG # 65 came out, being able to get into the CBT of Tanki X. I was one of the first 300 of the testers, but didn’t get to play until a month later. That was fun, everyone was nice, partkoreing happily, and just plain fun.  I got my first taste of XP on Jan. 20. That was fun.

So, that is it for year 1. See you all in the next battle,

Cool article, decent writing, overall a nice job. Although I would personally advise not using the link-player-name for it every time, perhaps just writing it and then putting it in a different font color would work better for making it noticeable.
