Different tracks for better grip on various terrain

 Share

Recommended Posts

5: Tracks. Different types of track are capeableof different terrains ( Shown below ).

Example:

Crawler - +15% Grip on snow. -10% Grip driving down hill/ramps etc

Snail - +20% Grip on earth. +20% Grip on snow. +5% Protection

Tracks can be microupgraded to increase grip.

Possibly - The power of the hull adds example +5 grip to tracks.

5.5: Terrain

Different tracks have different grip, depending on the terrain.

Snow -  -30% Grip (counteracted by different tracks)

Earth - +0% Grip (Default)

When driving uphill, more grip is needed

When driving downhill, you lose -5% grip ( If you tracks are 35% grip, it is 30% )

P.s. Im not really sure on stats so if someone could post further ideas, thanks!

Notice: Sorry about my "clans" thread. It did not turn out how i expected. Reading again, i see that it sounds like a rpg game.

1: Turret - Thunderstorm - Sprays water at enemy tanks.

-15% damage from firebird.

Freeze and Thunderstorm protected paints -10% effectiveness.

2: Hull - Grasshopper - Looks like a Mark 1 "Male" tank.

Same speed as Mammoth.

+ Turret is mounted on the side of the hull. One will be on each side, and will work like twins.

3: PM + Inbox much like here on the forum, only, ingame. Its stupid to pay 200 crystals every time you want to send a message

4: Taller trees that are NOT able to drive through.

1. No

2. No

3. Suggested before

4. Will be in Tanki X, unnecessary for TO.

5. Maybe

Please keep in mind that by the rules of this section, each topic must have only one idea, so for this one we're only considering the fifth point.

Since when can we drive through trees in the first place? I know we can drive through small brush but trees like the Palm Trees in Rio and Iran cannot be driven through .

I think this would be unnecessarily complicated and annoying for a fast-paced and relatively simple game like Tanki. Driving is supposed to be intuitive and basic so that the player can focus on other aspects of battle, and the fact that you have equal maneuverability on any type of terrain is part of that. Summer/Winter maps are also just cosmetic changes that shouldn't impact gameplay at all. I would find slipping on icy terrain and needing to shell out for a different set of treads highly irritating, and I suspect that difficulties with climbing slopes would make holding high ground kind of overpowered.

1: Turret - Thunderstorm - Sprays water at enemy tanks.

-15% damage from firebird.

Freeze and Thunderstorm protected paints -10% effectiveness.

The developers aren't going to be adding in any turrets in the near future since they have many more pressing issues and updates to work on. It would also be pretty hard to imagine how a spray of water could possibly cause a tank any damage (except maybe a super high pressure water cutter, but that's a very different idea). I also don't think the developers would want to give a turret any inherent protection from turrets, that's what paints are for.

2: Hull - Grasshopper - Looks like a Mark 1 "Male" tank.

Same speed as Mammoth.

+ Turret is mounted on the side of the hull. One will be on each side, and will work like twins. Hulls aren't going to be added in the near future for the same reason as turrets. Having two side-mounted turrets would be absurdly overpowered (imagine getting hit by two Shaft shots at once), and you wouldn't actually be able to rotate the turrets together.

4: Taller trees that are NOT able to drive through. Some tree props (dead ones, palm trees) can already block tanks from driving through them. I don't see the need to create 3D bush models to block traffic when props are already capable of doing that.

No. I'm not looking forward to pull out another 200k crystals to buy this "crawler" at m3. Your rank isn't high enough to understand the struggle of spending so much on something that doesn't really matter just like the guy who suggested protection modules. Then the game would become too complicated where you have no idea what track you are using; forcing yourself to go into the garage everytime you log in just to check what type of track you are using....

Plus what do you mean by grip??? Is it like how stable your tank is when driving on different terrains or is it bonus speed on different terrains??? We are driving tanks.... not racecars.

Good point, it would just be like slower stopping times I guess, and slower acceleration due to tracks spinning... bad idea overall, sorry :)

This is entirely unnecessary. Different types of tracks have been experimented with and the results show that the the rubber pads are more durable and easier to replace on the go. Some Countries have already switched over to the rubber pads. How does this tie in with Tanki? The unofficial story line happens after an apocalyptic event...Tanki. If steel tracks failed in the past, why would they be any better in the future?

I'm trying to visualize your track suggestion. Hypothetically speaking, how could they be any better? Steel wears out and the tracks get clogged with mud, rubber tracks don't. So, in the apocalyptic future what has happened to the tracks to make them slip and slide worse than they do now?

On which Tanki map are you having problems with your tank not getting up hills, gets stuck in the mud, slides across ice and snow? Sorry, I can't seem to wrap my brain around this suggestion. How does it apply to Tanki?
