Disable/Limit MU's before the rank the equipments unlocks

this proposal does only affect new purchases, it does not effect existing items in garages today
 
 
Problem today:

  • Think of players that purchases equipment via a kit (way before unlock rank). They have an advantage; and this is completely fine. But they can already MU their equipment to the max, and so be wwwwwaaaayy overpowered.

Proposal in a nutshell:

  • The ability to MUs a certain piece of equipment shall be disabled until the player reaches the rank this gear is unlocked to all players.
  • Once the player has reached the unlock rank of his turret, the turret can be MU'd.
    Same for hulls and modules.
  • This will increase game balance, while it maintains an advantage for buyers


Backup:
If this is refused by game design, then please consider at least limiting the allowed MUs (to 5/20) until the unlock rank is reached.

[..]...then how about make it such that you have to pay 50x the price if you want to start MUing stuff that you shouldn't have gotten for your rank?

I think that this would make sense as if you were to MU earlier then you would get a bigger advantage as compared to only start MUing it when you are at the rank where you can buy it. This would severly limit the amount of master corporals with m2 smoky and m2 titans

also, make it such that sales don't apply to MUs for stuff you haven't unlocked but got through a kit

Definitely a good idea. I would even take is a step further and say that MUs should be limited to some extent even after the equipment unlocks. For example at the unlock rank you can't MU it. On the next rank you get 10 MUs, on the next one - 20, then 30, 40 and finally 50, 5 ranks after that modification unlocked. That would make games more balanced and also create new unlockable content for players to be excited about when they reach new ranks.

Definitely a good idea. I would even take is a step further and say that MUs should be limited to some extent even after the equipment unlocks. For example at the unlock rank you can't MU it. On the next rank you get 10 MUs, on the next one - 20, then 30, 40 and finally 50, 5 ranks after that modification unlocked. That would make games more balanced and also create new unlockable content for players to be excited about when they reach new ranks.

only thing with that would be.... is what about Generalissimos Right Now when they unlock Mammoth and Dictator M3? How much EXP would they need to M4 them?

yes, that was ment to be part of a different proposal; including the M-levels and a straigt upgrade path..

I propose that soon ;)

Yes, i definitely agree i think the devs introduced many "buyers" updates but forgot the most important thing witch is the balance between buyers and non-buyers witch would significantely affect the gaming experience i could go deeper in this

Good question. I guess Generalissimos can have all the M3 MUs unlocked at once, since there's no more ranks at that point and "newbie" Generalissimos with 1.4 million points end up playing against generalissimos, who have been at the final rank for years and have M4 garages anyway. So adding any sort of limit on MUs won't make a difference in balance.

There is something like this already in Tanki X which refers to Mastery levels. You need to attain certain mastery levels in order to get upgrades. A nice Idea, would prevent colonels from roaming around with M4 combo's destroying the balance at those ranks.

I like upgrades but I have to agree with this idea. If a buyer gets their hands on twins M2 kit that kit will soon be twins M3. Not to mention they probably will start using supplies. They get over 100 kills in 15 mins. Waay over powered.

My idea is simple. Let's devide MUs into different ranks.

 

For example, Thunder M1 unlocks at Warrant Officer 4 and M2 is unlocked at Captain.

Here is how it works:

10/50: Warrant Officer 4

20/50: Warrant Officer 5

30/50: Third Lieutenant

40/50: Second Lieutenant

50/50: First Lieutenant

 

That means that once someone reach a new rank, he will be able to make per 10 upgrades of his favourite turret. It won't be nice if someone have M2 on Warrant Officer 4 and keep drugging. It will ruin the game balance and players will have to leave or keep drugging.

And it will be even less nice if they are at the rank to be able to buy the matrix kit, fully mu's thunder to m2 and drugs on the m0 ranks killing almost everyone in one shot each.

with double damage my titan m1 was annihilated in less than 2 seconds, how fair is that?

It only took two seconds to kill your m1 titan that time?

After the balance is done, this problem still persists.

More upvotes and developer attention is welcome :)

Maybe this isn't the perfect solution, existing M3s *cough cough* mine *cough cough* will be even MORE OP. When the buyer wave from my ranks is over, (I do not plan to rank up), I will be way too OP, not even buyers could stop me 4 ranks ahead

Yes, the problem existis with every kit owner that has enough crystals (or buys them) in order to do a lot of MUs on his turret.

Especially the early M2 kits (that give you a large advantaeg over M1s..) can be boosted to full M3 instantaniously during an MU sale.
