Auto-continue option

Recommended Posts

So recently the 'Continue' button has been added, quite a lot of times I forget to click it and leave the battle, then someone gets my place.

Maybe there could be an option in settings 'Auto-continue in battle?' so you just continue with the battle?

Valid

Since this is about a recently added feature, I suggest you also post in the News topic to make sure your suggestion is seen. But I have doubts about developers approving this.

The whole reason for adding the "continue" button was so that you have to make it clear that you are still physically there (not went AFK or anything) and are ready to play another round. This prevents situations where one whole team is playing, while a bunch of tanks on the other team are just standing there, because the players went for a break without leaving the battle. So having an option that keeps you in the battle without having to click anything would completely nullify the purpose of the "Continue" button feature.

I think a better option would be a warning that makes itself clearly visible on the screen (perhaps while also having a sound effect) when you are about to be removed from the battle. Or just making the process of pressing the "Continue" button simpler, e.g. by pressing Enter instead of having to grab the mouse and click a small part of the screen.

A warning would actually be a good idea too, or the shortcut key, as you said.

And yes, while making this suggestion I also thought about mults, so +1 to this. + The pause time was lowered to 2 minutes, which is right at the limit to go to the toilet, drink something and come back, so mults aren't really possible just by going AFK.

Or showing the timer would already be a step to improvement.

I think the "Continue" button is not necessary, if a player doesn't want to stay, he would press the "Exit" button whenever he want. <_<

But if he doesn't, it's because he want to stay... Simple.

I like the idea of the continue button, but it will take getting used to. I have forgotten to click it 9/10 times so far.

"Continue" button is just taking us out of the battles.  -_-

No, sorry, It ruins the point of the "continue" button, and how much work can it be to move your mouse and click on the green button?  ;)  :)

Players are accustomed without this unuseful botton, it's simple if player wants to stay, he/she do nothing, if so, is accepting to stay there.  -_-

Then what's the function of "Exit" button at the final results?

It reduces mults and you can't disagree with that.

If you want to leave 15 seconds early, its useful...

But, I disagree because the button is unnecessary -_- there is no reason to remain in the game. -_-

Do you mean there's no reason to remain in the battle or TO itself? And as I said above, we've all seen a decrease in mults after the 2-min pause and continue button were released.

I said that there is no reason for the "Continue" button, because if a player wants to stay, the player simply do nothing... that method has nothing bad, and the decreases of the mults are not too many ones. <_<

I've seen (and experienced) multiple Legends/Gizmos admitting that mult numbers have indeed decreased. And I'm saying that it's useful because of this reason.

On a side not, Mafi, isn't "reverting to previous game updates" or "restoring previous updates" impossible? Shouldn't this automatically be declined?

This is not "reverting to previous game updates". This is adding an option in settings, which most of us older Tanki players (I've been here since 2012 ;) ) are used to (continue without timer). Or at least adding a shortcut key or warning on the screen.

I'm pretty sure it is... continue button was added, auto-continue was removed. Now, this dude's pretty much suggesting that auto-continue goes back. And us old veterans (I've been here since 2009, on multiple accounts. Want the full story, PM me.  ;) ) remember how most updates got even close to reversing.

I don't need or want your stories. If you're such an old player, you've probably gotten used to automatically continuing with the battle? No? Okay.

Did you read the other part? Adding a shortcut, or a warning? Nah. If adding an auto-continue option in settings fails, the other idea may succeed - warning / shortcut key.

If you don't need mine, I don't need yours... I'm just not posting in this topic again to avoid an argument...

Anyway, my view is that this idea shouldn't be added.

It's just not necessary. Period.

You told your opinion twice already and I understand that you're against the idea, now let others discuss the idea.
