There are many things in the game and in its spheres that only quite a few people know about; probably due to they being unpopular or just the mere fact that they doesn't appear in conversations ever so often.

Moreover, in the previous article, I decided to include more stuff from the forum instead of the actual game. However, this article is going to be the complete opposite - more stuff from the game. So, without further ado, here are ten things in the game not many people knew existed.

____________________________________________________________________________________________

10. Ghosting Laser Beams:

Starting off at number ten, we have the most incredible feat of... lasers ghosting through walls.

What?!

Yep, lasers passing through walls. The University of Ghosting Mechanics in Perm, Russia, recently invented a laser beam that could potentially pass through walls. The idea was not original though, as long ago, in around 400 BC, a Russian scientist, Martin Vizhokhovsk published an idea of a pattern of light that could pass through solid objects, like walls. However, due to the limitation of technology at that time, his theory could not be put forward into the testing phase.

But, a definite breakthrough did occur at the said institution; and now, the world can enjoy the first ever, ghosting laser.

Moreover, the University also owns the prestigious awards for making fire, ice and bullets pass through walls as well.

9. Rico'ing Plasma:

At number nine, we have plasma that can penetrate certain materials and then continue to bounce around in it. Yes, I'm talking about Ricochet and a... tree.

If you fire at just the right angle and distance, you will be able to make Ricochet's plasma go inside a dead tree, making it bouncing inside, but finitely. What does it look like? Well...

8. Shining 'em Up:

Next up, we have the incredibly amazing process of shinning sprites in the game. You can do that by flipping a tank with Firebird or Freeze that will shoot under the surface and light the sprites up without the fire/ice itself being visible.

lgVIBAY.png

Similarly, Magnum's smoke - that is left behind the bullet - can be lit up by any light source when dynamic lights are on.

7. No-Damage on Splash:

Thunder is notorious for its design, structure and damage. It can literally take out an enemy in a very little amount of time, provided that there is minimal protection. We've all faced a beastly Thunder at least once or twice in our careers, no?

However, Thunder's splash damage is the whole frame that keeps it up. Without it, Thunder would pretty much be a wanna-be Smoky with a bigger explosion.

But, did you know that sometimes Thunder's splash damage doesn't do damage at all? No, I'm not talking about that annoying glitch where you don't deal damage for a certain period of time. I'm talking about a lag-free, glitch-free situation where the splash, or heck, even the shot doesn't deal damage at all.

How? Shooting a dead tank. That's right, if you shoot a corpse of a tank with Thunder, both the shot and the splash will deal no damage to other tanks, even if they're standing right on top of it.

6. Random Things:

Here's some random little things you might not have noticed in the game:

  • Know the Train Station map? No? There was a map named "Train Station," which was released before the New Year celebrations in 2012. After the release, a bug had been noticed - the prop of the tower could be shot through with Shaft. Two days later, the use of this bug became punishable and a week after that, the bug had been completely fixed. However, you also might've seen the broken tower prop in some maps, such as Aleksandrovsk and Brest. You can actually shoot through that prop with any weapon, even energy-based ones! This bug hasn't been fixed yet.
  • In 2011, Developers decided to make a contest in which it was necessary to turn the turret constantly. A special map called "Carousel" was developed for this contest. Both the Tanki Race: Monte Carlo and Deathtrack community events were possibly inspired from that event.
  • Contrary to what many people think, the biggest map in the game according to size is not Dusseldorf. Lost Temple is the biggest, followed by Berlin and then by Dusseldorf at number three. However, Dusseldorf holds the most number of players at a whopping 40 people! Berlin comes in next at 36, while Lost Temple and Madness follow in at third at 32 players.
  • In 'The GAME' of May 2013, the prize for those who successfully solved all of the puzzles was a temporary paint called "Storm" with 15% protection from all turrets. Around 9636 people got the paint! The original Storm paint (one that protects from Firebird) was still there, so nothing got replaced or substituted. If the reward Storm paint were still here, that many people would have the Spectrum M-C module in their garage!
  • Many maps, such as Year 2042 and Rio, contain a brown prop that looks like a broken Titan-Firebird. This is actually a tribute to the players of the pre-rebalance era, where this combination was dubbed the 'most absurd and useless combination' in Tanki.
  • The biggest battle funds in the game were five times the normal one on August 2, 2015 in honor of the 50 000 people who simultaneously watched the eSports final on Twitch. Putting that to perspective, the latest Master of the Sword final got only to around 864 people, while the latest livestream could only achieve 389 people.
  • Another thing which many people contradict, the most famous maps are Sandbox and Polygon, instead of Noise or smaller maps like Island. In 2015 alone, around 7.7M Sandbox battles were made. Polygon was possibly the most famous in 2016, but no official statement has been released yet.
  • The daily mission that is completed most often in TO is "Finish first in battle". It is followed by "Collect Repair Kits" and "Collect Speed Boosts" - probably due to higher rewards or challenging nature.
  • The most common pronunciation for Aleksandrovsk is "Alekahjdajisdhkjfhk", as many people find it hard to pronounce the map's name. Additionally, Osa, Gubakha and Kungur are pronounced as 'Oh-sa', 'Goo-bah-ka' and 'Kun-ger' respectively.

5. Random Equipment in XP/BP:

Oh, hey! You've made it to the fifth checkpoint of this article. So, without making any further delay, let's jump right into the fifth thing you didn't know about the game - joining XP/BP battles with random equipment. This "glitch", you can say, is fairly new. Basically, what it does is that it lets you join XP/BP battles with any equipment of your choice, like this:

RAkpSdO.jpg

(This is only for illustration. Do not try to exploit this bug, you can be punished!)

4. #OMP:

Some time ago, one who conquered the magnificent skyscraper in Rio was deemed a legend. That was one incredibly hard feat. I mean, how do you do it? There's so much to choose from. An elevator of Twins' projectiles? Striker's salvo? Or just a huge procession of everyday Hammers and Dictators?

But, no. As you all must've been hearing and seeing, Tanki released a new turret, called Magnum. Turned out, it completely revolutionized parkour in Tanki - IT MADE EVERY SINGLE BUILDING BE EASILY CONQUERED ALONE. Ahem, sorry for the little increase in voice level there, but hey, top that with Space mode and you become a professional, flying, flipping, wandering-about-in-space-until-you-land tank that climbs buildings alone like they're a 'lil cliff.

3. The Incredibly Awesome Feats in Tanki:

At number three, we have a display of perfection... or rather, an amazing feat in Tanki.

Dictators can climb buildings, ALONE.

2. Specially-Made Special Offers:

To be honest, I didn't even know these even existed till about a month ago when I was no-lifing Tanki-related YouTube. I saw some thumbnails with special offers containing some absurdly big numbers and selling for whopping amounts as well.

I was like: "Yo, what the heck is that? That surely must be photoshop!"

Well, to my surprise, they were real. These specially-made special offer are only to random people randomly, to the extent of my knowledge that is.

Here is one of them:

1. "Hax...ing":

Congratulations, you've reached the final part of this list. You know what they say, save the best for the last; and so, I've saved probably the craziest thing to be ever discovered in Tanki.

Ladies and gentleman, it is the very sensitive subject of ghosting through walls without using any sort of hacks. The way it basically works is you and a partner team up such that you're still ghosting (a.k.a being a phantom inside another tank) inside him/her. You then head towards an invisible wall (walls which are appearing invisible but actually aren't). Once you reach it, your partner stops just before hitting the wall; be careful here, as touching it will cause self-destruction on point. Then, you drive through over the wall into the area after it. You'll have the what's been dubbed the "no-damage glitch", meaning that you'll still be okay in a self-destruction area.

Watch the video below to see what I mean! Credits to owner.

This one was much better. I didn't know about the Special Offer or Hax ... ing one. Just a suggestion, don't use that red/burgundy, it looks really ugly. Also, did you just rephrase the Wiki "Did You Know?" Questions for the "Random Things?"

Not rephrased, added a seperate fact to them by building upon the original statement. Hope that clears the confusion up :)

  • The daily mission that is completed most often in TO is "Finish first in battle".

It was easiest mission and it's most difficult one. :(

BTW we get this mission very rarely now.

That Special Offer becomes available if you keep buying the Crystal/Supplies packages. Starts out $3.99, then once you buy that the Special Offer goes to $7.99 with increased crystals and supplies and keeps going up. For $200 there is a 1M crystals + 5000 supplies to go with that. I guess these Special Offers are for buyers who kept buying.

No. These are not special offers for random people. They come by buying all of the shop bundles including the previous one which contains 1 million crystal. I have this bundle in my shop right now and am waiting for my youtube to become more popular to buy it... It is $400 and may or may not be worth it... I also have (I am almost 100% positive) the ONLY video on buying the 1 million crystal bundle. After searching for over half an hour on youtube, the closest one I found bought all bundles but the 1 million one, which gave the owner close to 1 million crystals. By buying this bundle i had 2 million crystals and was able to m4 vandal kit, get golden star, and buy and m4 the m3 spider module (50% protection from mines baby!!) If you want to see more, see my youtube (JFFM Tanki)

*I don't know if I am allowed to 'advertise' like this you tanki forum moderators, and will fix it if I am not allowed.

I am not sure if i have bought the 40,000 crystals special offer in the last 2 months or not. Today,  I've received the same offer again, but stating 'if you have bought this item before then you will receive a compensation of only 12,500 crystals'

So if someone has bought this offer before, then why this keeps showing again?
