Re-make Noise

If Thunder wasn't bad enough to keep Blue team pinned in the bottom, Magnums are worse, with splash damage that can cover at least 70% of the area. It makes losing near impossible when you're on red. Get two Viking Isidas to heal each other as they go get the flag, three magnums to fire one after the other to keep enemy Isidas to be forced to use their ammo on each other, rather than the others. A Twins Titan as a mid fielder to take out any soul brave enough to come up out of the pit of death. There's your unstoppable defense. I found one way past, but that's a secret for me to keep ;)

 

So, the Noise map should either:

 

-Be removed from game, even though it's great for quickly gaining exp.

-Change the map to roof off the blue base so enemies can't endlessly lob shots down there.

-Don't allow Magnums in Noise.

 

I'm more for the second option, to roof off the Blue base, but allowing the ramps to get up and down. Maybe add a couple buildings in the new area to keep it from being too plain and fence off the edges.

 

Yesterday there was FOUR Magnums firing systematically so we were taking shots every couple seconds, rendering our team's Isida's useless, us weak enough for even M0 enemy tanks to come in and finish off what would be a defense near impossible to break through.

 

I would have put this in the ideas for maps topic but I feel this is critical and more people need to see it since users are more inclined to look at what's in the main list. Please do something. This is becoming a trend where at least one person has a Magnum on Red team every time.

So, I thought of something. You know that tiny little portion in the wall on Blue team? Well, that could be extended into some sort of tunnel system and have Blue base underneath red base.

i only agree with something....

 

move blue team from bottom to middle.

and i have an idea..... 

 

 

make magnums can't shoot to bottom but it can shoot in middle but with a small damage and it will not has a big splash damage .it will has a small splash damage.

Or increase map size, spread out the spawn points further apart, and add a couple indirect routes from one base to the other.

 

But yeah i agree with you, this map is totally unbalanced, even in space mode when thunders can use it to shoot directly down into the blue teams base.

Noise is fine! It's my favourite map and a good map to use my Isida m2 in. If magnums are shooting down into the blue base, then go up and kill him or hide...and heal anyone that gets splash damage. If the Blue team drugs then they can win, but reds do have an advantage being higher up so they can shoot down into Blue base. Still, the Blue Team is my favourite team as we just camp all the time lol. I'm too lazy to move around and if I go up into Red territory they'll have no mercy on us helpless isidas

Really, tankers complain about the stupidest things...it's no big deal. Use a tough tank and you'll survive. Kill the stupid magnums and thunders shooting down at you...however it is annoying to be an isida and in the middle of healing someone a thunder shoots down at you with double damage and you lose the experience.

Survive a magnum shot every two seconds which the Isidas cannot keep up with? K.

- This map can be kept for assault mode. Where the flag would be and Blue base and point at Red. Reds just need to attack, take their flag and cap. As red usually has advantage. Each flag will be worth 5 only while 10 points would increase every minute. Meaning 1 every 6 seconds.

- We could change noise. We can push blue base up to the same level of red and create some ups and downs between.

Yes, but use the one way tunnel idea, where red can't use the tunnel because the tunnel exit is elevated for them.

Although, this could easily be parkoured into and thunders, Magnums could use splash to damage anybody who goes in this tight tunnel because there would be no room to move. This is from a side view.

 

This is a rough above sketch of a section of Blue base. I labeled the flag as reference and what's green is the section in the wall and an idea of what it should be made into and where the flag should be.

This other entrance here should link up with the tunnel like ramp that leads up to red base so they don't have to come down, go into this little space and hope to come out.

 

There are three entrances so red team isn't completely useless, so they have multiple ways of going in and out. Three ways, just like blue team has for getting into red base, to make it fair. There should be little holes to let in light from the top. I feel this would easily balance out the map for both teams, and make it more interesting.

 

No gold boxes should spawn here.

Yep I agree. Magnums have really unbalanced noise. Some of them have d/l above 100 simply because they dont get killed.

 

As an isida user myself, I can say that it is really annoying because you can't even hull one person because multiple magnums shoot and kill everyone.

When im on red, I'll sit up behind the house and lob shots into blue base. Only time I get killed is when the occasional tanker comes up with his isida buddy and I end up selfing as I take them out because of splash damage.

When teams are relatively even Red has large advantage.

 

Red has a much greater chance of controlling middle level since they can just jump from their platform.  If team controls middle they control the only RK, and have decent chance at the other DA & DD. Once red has secure control of middle level it's basically game over.

 

And other weapon that makes a huge difference for Red - striker. Up high on a platform it can easily destroy multiple tanks bunched up on the ramps.

The tunnel will exit bellow the stairs, bellow the house in the middle.

 

They should widen the map a little, so the red base can be higher.for the stairs to be a little higher as well.

That what exactly happened to silence. The changes made it unpopular. Before, 90% of players used to play only in silence. Now, only 5% or so.

I don't think you're familiar at all with the Game Physics. You can't simply disallow for Magnum to shoot downwards (someone mentioned that somewhere). Also, you can't discriminate and ban Magnum completely from just one map. Whilst I thoroughly love Noise as an all-time-favourite, I think that modifying it would kill its legacy. Personally, I'm fine with Noise not being in the battle pool and I think it should be left alone to only be able to Pro Battles.

So when Assualt Map was launched 5 months ago with issues, instead of tweaking it, Devs should say "u just don't have to play it and problem solved"?

 

Sounds like a grand plan. B)
