Vulcan Bugged: Sudden Overheating

 Share

Recommended Posts

OK this has happened at least three and possibly four times in the past week, give or take a day. It is repeatable but does not happen too often.

I use a Wasp / Viking with the Fire/Railgun/Thunder module

What happens is I start to fire and within one second or less my hull is glowing a medium red. It is not the deepest shade of beet red but it will take several seconds to coll down doing substantial damage.

I am 100% certain this is not a case of me forgetting how long I have been shooting. In every case it I have had reason to stop shooting after a very brief burst of bullets.  Maybe the target blew up, or moved behind cover ... I cannot say I recall why I stopped in each case.  It was not even close to the ~5 seconds or so I am allowed, yet my tank was already reddish.

If it has happened in other situations I do not know. But it happened again tonight for the 3rd or 4th time. And it is not anything I've seen before the last week.

I've also experienced this on my Total account. I think it automatically goes to the maximum temperature within the first 1-2 seconds of shooting. I use the client so it must be a bug.

Yesterday my Vulcan seemed to have a lot less ammo than usual. I can't say for sure that it did, but my impression was that the ammo bar didn't last more than a couple of seconds.

I just wanted to be sure, but now I know it is definitely happening to me.

When I spawn, as soon as I hit space bar, my tank overheats.

It is instant self damage. The yellow bar doesn't need to run out.

It isn't always. But it certainly happens.

Is this known about? Is it being addressed? How soon will it be fixed? Are other vulcan users seeing this?

pls reply and if a person of note in tanki sees this, pls reply so that someone beyond regular community can solve it

I'm a vulcan user on another account. I was using it yesterday and didn't see any problems. I'll go on that account now to see if happens to me

I went on my other account and played TDM. I didn't have any problems like you described. Some lagging, but that's all. Next time it happens, check your FPS and Ping. Edited by Hate

Just saw another thread with a similar complaint - time to post on Bugs and Glitches

Merged both topics into one. :)

Your issue has been noticed, and it is likely that something is wrong with the Turret. I myself have seen it as well and it happened to me.

We will keep the topic open till the issue is solved, also in the meantime if there are some other players who also face same issue like this, will re-direct them in here so all complains will be in 1 place.

Good lord the original complaint said it is an intermittent problem. That means it happens only occasionally. You did not see it when you played Vulcan for a small time. BFD.

OK so I have made some observations.

I can not get a video of it... as I don;t have the knowledge to do that.

Someitmes when you first join a game, you deal no damage, you can't pick up boxes you die, then you are able to.

With this... from every instance I can remember, it is when I first join, or first start a game after previous game is ended. That is the most likely time to find a vulcan overheat IMMEDIATELY. It isn't about the yellow bar running out faster, or when it does my vulcan heating up super quick. It's instant.

It isn't a slow burn up. It is instantly full red burn. Not like the extra heat from fire alteration. Just full burn I'd say.

When I join a game... if i use vulcan and its ok.. i think for whole game it is ok. I'll keep an eye out specifically for it happening in the middle of games. But I've confirmed at least 6 times it happening right at the start. Join game. Game starts. Hit space. Burn.

Hope this helps.

hmm. ok.

also... i just realized what the other person was saying. about when  yellow bar runs out.. and tank overheats super fast.

this may actually be true. but maybe someone else can confirm and elaborate? I just played a game where I joined it was fine. There was no immediate burn as mentioned above. But I do believe I went extremely hot very quickly. But I am just adding to some one else's initial impressions because I believe I saw that too... but I haven't documented it as well. i'll post more as i see it.

i use twins as main... so vulcan I've put on back burner for now. It still works as i stated its intermittent. But it happens.

have there been changes made to vulcan? with overheating after yellow bar runs out? i tried with and without fire protection. seemed kinda fast. but maybe I'm psyched cause of this bug

hello can someone please explain this to me please.

Why Vulcan M4 start inflicting burnings while the battle just started, and is doing self- damage, And no one has shoot me.

it is just doing self damage on its own when the battle just started, and during the battle it goes to normal after i got destroyed on my own when the battle just started.

Thank you.

Even I noticed it, it mostly happens when I shoot for an extended period of time till I start overheating. Then I stop, and when starting to shoot again, even though my ammo is full I will be heating from the moment I pressed Space. Annoyed me quite a lot yesterday in my battle

Mine is 19/20 and I only faced this problem once in Silence battle, that was the only time it happened to me, although I barely use my Vulcan.

It is a bug that many players have experienced. The only thing you can do is wait until developers fix it.

Just so long as the devs know about it and it is on their bug kill list that mission accomplished here.

I do not have the heat issue but my vulcan can not hit  opponents sometimes, you fire, bullets come out but do not run home even when "hitting" their tank. It happens intermittently when i have just used a supply box and sometimes when i engage over drive, the only way to fix it is to engage another supply or self destruct. How ever much more frequently  when i freshly spawn into a battle the first time i can not hit any tanks as described above until i self destruct.

my vulcan is m1 use it on m1 titan
