My Opinions On The Upcoming Overdrives

This is my first ever "Guide". Hope you enjoy my opinions on the new Overdrives and what hull got which one. If you have anything to say, or have any opinions on the matter yourself, post below.

 

Wasp's

Wasp's Overdrive will definitely help it become a better flag carrier. Nothing better to shake off your opponents than a mine - except a bomb! I was pretty sure the Wasp would get this one. It very clearly fits with Wasp's personality; darting in, doing a ton of damage, and disappearing into the night. Could definitely also help clear CPs of enemies, as I assume a bomb would have splash damage similar to Magnum, and damage similar to Shaft (or maybe even more!) Could definitely help out against those pesky close-ranged weapons which are soo common at my rank.

 

Hornet's

I originally thought that this one would be given to Hunter, as it fits the name better. However, the ability to see through walls, plus ignoring all enemy protection modules, is a very good idea. Hornet will probably often be used with Shaft, Smokey, Thunder and Railgun on higher ranks, as nearly half the players on Tanki have at least one of these protections. As for seeing through walls and seeing all enemy HP bars, this will change the game  a lot. First of all, Hornet-Magnum might become a very common sight on the battlefield. I would recommend using it after this update, as being able to see enemies behind walls makes Magnum able to be a lot more effective. Seeing enemy HP could be useful for anybody, but Striker and Shaft players will benefit most, as they can choose the mode they use better if enemy HP is visible.

 

Viking's

Viking also got the Overdrive I thought and hoped it would get. Increased range. Quicker reloading. Infinite ammo. All of these would benefit any turret. And, because Viking goes well with anything, it seems fitting that it gets an Overdrive good for any role. Not much to say here, except that it would work well with any weapon.

 

Hunter's

Hate druggers? This Overdrive's the one for you! The ability to deactivate enemy supplies is an ability non-buyers have been wanting for as long as Tanki has existed. Whether or not this would remove repair kits or mines is still to be seen, but even if not, it will be deadly. Probably best in deathmatches. Wait till you see an enemy with a full supply set, equip one your self, activate it, and they will be powerless to defeat you!

 

Dictator's

Dictator's Overdrive is the only one of these currently in the game. Not much to say really, the V-logs have given the best tips on how to use it and I am sure most of us know what it looks like and how it works.

 

Titan's

I originally thought that this would be given to Mammoth, however, it was given to his cousin Titan. Titan, in my opinion, does deserve this Overdrive more than Mammoth. I  just didn't expect Mammoth to get invulnerability, but now I understand why it would get that as well. This shield is team-orientated, as are most of these Overdrives. Any teammates can stand under the shield and receive the same protection.

 

Mammoth's

Mammoth's Overdrive will allow it to become invincible, and destroy anything it touches. It will, however, become slower. This is probably the most deadly of the Overdrives; if you see a Mammoth on a rampage, run! Great for defense and Gold Box catching as well. If you saw a Mammoth with this sitting on the flag, you should probably just run away.

 

Conclusion

I think Overdrives will add a new dimension to the way the game works. They will make it more interesting, and allow non-druggers to compete against druggers and buyers. They will also help players to play for the team.

I definitely have to agree; I'm really excited for the addition of Overdrives. I hope it'll be one step closer to a strategy-oriented game rather than a "pop lots of supplies" game. I'll be using Shaft/Viking and Shaft/Hornet mostly; I loved playing as both of those already and they just work even better with Shaft now, especially Hornet.  :P

Hunter's overdrive is useless in no supply battles. And even in normal battles, why care about disabling supplies when you can destroy every enemy in a nearby radius.

You cannot enable Overdrive when Supplies and Supply Drops are enabled.

What if no one on the enemy team is drugging? This happens even in normal battles.

Also, what you wrote doesn't make sense.

As in the pro battle setting "Allow Overdrives" cannot be enabled when "Supply drops" and "Supplies" are disabled.

One question i really have is: what will the kill icons be for people who get killed by wasps bomb or mammoths invincible thing? shaft has a scope, and mines have a mine, smoky has a lightning bolt, and thunder has an explosion. wat about these.

Go to the Tanki Online Wiki. Press the drop-down menu beside "Hulls". Each hull has a symbol.

Good article.

Keep it on the good work.

 

I think the Bomb will kill everything in its radius, but the mammoth will be spared if it has activated the Invincibility OD. To have given such power to a very fragile hull is a big gamble, however people will now fear the Wasp. The Wasp's OD can be used both for offense and defense. I can see last stand saved by the use of it and also some status quo resolved vigorously if OD properly used.

Those are just the cross sections of the hulls. LAME. I want something like an explosion or something.

I hope, it would be worst as every 3 minutes you can see a guy using this ability and imagine of 15 minute battle with 20 tankers. a tanker use overdrive nearly 5 times and we can see chaos over there. I am viking user so, if i use overdrive, .. i would be in top for like a minute and mammoth will arrive and dashes me.. and titan shield itself.. seriously it has got some fat and what's that extra fat ?

 

Finally its was easy to hunt wasp and it drops nuke so, stay away so, i need to focus on hornet as it got dumb one. And i need to use my overdrive when enemy has used his overdrive.. 

 

So, hence, the battle is gonna be very hard and i need to skip my homework.
