Set afk status on lobby chat

Recommended Posts

I think a new chat command, something like "/setafk:toilet" will be cool. So if you type it into the lobby chat, until you are back and type something into the chat, you'll have the afk status.

For example, if @Maf writes "/setafk:going through forum" if @Hate sends him a message "Maf: Sup mult?" The chat will tell him that "Maf is afk. Message: Going through forum." in that good ol' green text that also reads "[insert nug] has been banned [...]" :P

There might as well be a feature to leave a message for the afk person, so that when they come back the chat floods him with those messages. :P.

Valid

I like the afk part but I'm not sure about leaving a message to the person. I mean if it says player is afk, can't send a message and in case players are able to write short message of why they are afk, even better so sending a message to that player won't be possible as it will say player is afk so the other one will know and will try to talk to you later so I don't think the part where leaving a message to the afk player is really that necessary but this is just my opinion. ?

"/setafk:going through forum

The red text could easily be abused - you could put anything there. Tanki applying its already pretty obsolete censoring system for these messages is rather useless imo.

I like this idea, I don't know how many times I've been away from my computer for a bit and end up with like 4 friends trying to start a conversation.

It would be easier just doing: /afk. The first time you do it puts you in AFK mode, then the next time you talk/join a battle/type /afk it will unAFK you.

My suggestion is to have a busy message icon with the word busy, so when players pause the game, instead of a (countdown notification and pause), players will be able to notify other players in the battle that they are busy doing something else. For example, I go to eat, drink, walk or go to the toilet.

This system would work by typing in busy during the battle, and other players would see this command displayed on the corner of the screen until the player comes back. To remove busy, players would just need to press any key on the keyboard.

When players are busy, there is no (countdown time to avoid being kicked out of battles), so your tank will re-spawn continuously, unable to move, and the player will be killed over and over again without attacking the enemy. This is not power levelling at all, but it is just a normal function of the game if this update were going to ever be implemented into Tanki Online.

You have a point.

Another run on sentence by Hate!  ;)  What will be the record length?

That could lead to a ban according to rule 2.1.5.

 Sabotage — Any acts or omissions aimed at creating obstructions for the team where the User is a member, including in CTF, TDM and CP modes, fighting against the team of which you are a member (intentional selection of weak equipment, frequent pauses, inactivity or intentional failure to comply with map’s or game mode’s requirements, imitation of issues with internet connection), damaging/destroying an ally’s tank, fighting in the interest of the opponent’s team (conspiracy);

This will not contribute to a ban. If the payers are busy doing something else, then there is no wrong doing on pausing the game for the busy players.

Well, the other players in the busy player's team would then suffer.

I think we are deviating from the topic. My proposal was to have an afk option in the lobby chat, nothing to do with the battle chat.

Cannot help players suffer on your own team when you have players who paused the game.

Yes you can help the other players. By kicking a player who wants to take a 5 minute break. That'll be bad for just one player. If what you had been suggesting happens, then it'll be bad for the whole team. Isn't it more fair to make a player suffer instead of a team? We can't win both ways.
