Unofficial Guide to the Matchmaking system

Introduction

Hello everyone, many of you seem to be confused regarding the new Matchmaking system released on May 29th just after the server restart. Here I will be posting brief information as to why this update was needed and how to adapt towards the system.

 

Background information

Many popular PvP games we play today already have a matchmaking system, such as Call of Duty, Overwatch and Fortnite. Tanki have been talking about implementing a such a system for almost a year now and after minor changes, month after month Tanki is proud to say the official and final product of the Matchmaking system is finally here! 

 

 

What does the Matchmaking system do?

The new matchmaking system delivers a small range of convenience for us players to use such as groups and an appropriate battle fund distribution towards all players on the team whether they take a loss or not.

 

From the Matchmaking system, players can now choose what type of battle modes they want to play in via the battle mode list. From here you can choose which non-pro game mode you want to play ranging from TDM, DM, CTF, CP, ASL and RGB in their respective order, you can also play missions that require you to earn experience or crystals in a certain battle mode with this method. If you like surprises alternatively one can feel free to choose the "Quick Battle" option, from there you will be in a queue to join a random game mode in a random map. The battle mode list can be found by pressing the "Battle" option whenever you are on the pro battle section.

 

No more wasting time trying to find a battle only to discover you (as an individual or your team as a whole) are outgunned and outnumbered! With the innovative system, players must wait for a small time length of just under 3 minutes maximum to play in new 8v8, 10-minute battles.

 

Let's also not forget about the all-new group system. Do you have a lot of friends in the same friendship circle? This is for you guys! Invite friends to your group and start playing together bettering cooperation levels and battle chemistry.

 

FAQ

Why did Tanki implement this update?

Matchmaking has been in discussion by the developers for a while now. The system has been introduced for players to play a fair battle without one team having an uneven number of players to make it faster to find battles of your rank and preference.

 

How do I join non-pro battles?

Follow this guide as I show you how to start battling with other tankers.

First, you may be only seeing pro battles only, don't worry, you don't need to buy a pro pass.

 

1. Simply click the "Battle" Button just above the battle list here:

2. Once that is done, click a battle mode you desire to play in:

3. Start battling as a team or by yourself and complete missions in randomised maps!

 

How do I use the new group feature?

The group feature can be accessed via the battle list, next to the missions tab here

You'll be appointed as the group leader as soon as you click the group tab, from there you may begin to start adding other members to your group by clicking the "invite to group" prompt under your nickname.

This will bring up your friend list. From there you request to invite members to your group by clicking the green tick next to their name.

Once they accept, your friend will be able to join any battles the group leader (you) join via the Matchmaking battle list.

Play and complete missions as a group. After the battle press the "continue" button to play another game of the same battle mode, but in a different map or feel free to exit and change the battle mode.

 

 

If you no longer want a player in your group or they have gone offline simply find the red cross next to their name at the end of the tag.

 

Please note the group feature only works in the Matchmaking lobby and not in the pro battle lobby. Inviting friends to pro battles must be done via the friend list. 

 

What maps are available in the Matchmaking System?

There are a current total of 26 maps in the Matchmaking System pool, upon entering there may be a chance whether the theme of the map is Summer or Winter. A majority of the maps in the pool have been altered a little bit hence why they look different to their PRO battle counterparts, again to improve the balance. I understand u have to wait for 3 minutes to join a battle with equal number of players, but do we get an option to join our favorite map, which we want to play?

Certainly not, and the maps in which we are getting thrown in it lags terribly, then we only exit the map and join again.

Agreed lot of games use this PvP version which is a fair deal, what about our choice, our preference to do our daily missions in preferred maps?

I understand earlier we use to wait but that was by our choice (waiting to get a spot, in our preferred map) not waiting to join a random map blindly. It's a difference.

But over all this guide rocks, excellent work done by you Ice-Cream :)

This is a game, many kids here, I think the guide should be easy to read, and not try to be the ultimate guide for the pros in Tanki with introductions, background and stuff.

This is a terrible update... i play only 2 3 maps.. and  i dont play all maps
