Floating Mammoths, tanks on buildings and incessant gossip. In a normal match, such sights are never found. Parkour, however, is a different story. In parkour matches, one can find all sorts of crazy acts happening. Despite parkour lacking any apparent purpose (barring the obvious ability to brag), it has certainly gained popularity at a breakneck pace. Something as pointless or tricky to do as it was certain to have a few contests pinned down in its name, and the latest one, Parkour Weekly - Season 1, is the last (Haha! I know you got worried that this is the last ever parkour contest) one before the Masters of Parkour Contest.

So, what is this contest?

Well, Parkour Weekly - Season 1 is quite a unique kind of parkour contest. This time, it’s not just about filming an epic stunt and submitting it - there’s a lot more formalities and subtleties to this it. Without further ado, let’s get into it!

1. Completely reworked prizes!

If you were the sort of person who’d be left scratching their head and searching for answers when they were clearly written, then just wait until this contest goes live. This contest will have vastly different, and to a certain extent, strange, reward system. This time, you will get rewards for each round, which means that there’s no overall winner. Each round, the highest scorers of that round (the players who participated in the most wicked and epic stunts) will be provided/given the best rewards. Nevertheless, there will be small prizes along the way for videos with, for example, the craziest or hardest stunts to execute.

 2. A strange new judging system!

If this contest hasn’t broken enough norms already, brace yourself for the most significant one! As opposed to most contests, this one will have a very unusual system for deciding who wins a particular round (since there aren’t any overall winners). There will be a category which is determined by the official organisation, one category for the official clubs and the last for the players themselves to decide (although players can’t vote for their teams).

3. You can’t just make a single video and hope to win the contest.

Traditionally, parkour contests were quite short because you just had to do one round and then that’d pretty much decide whether you’d move on or leave the competition. Parkour Weekly - Season 1 provides you with the ability to prove yourself multiple times. There’s also no elimination system in this contest. Naturally, there will be numerous rounds and your team, and you decide if you want to participate in all, some or none of those rounds (and I’m not sure why anyone would sign up in the first place if you plan to take part in none of the rounds). Speaking of making a video, your team can’t have a Spectator filming your video. The person who records the stunts isn’t allowed to use Spectator mode, although this person can change from round to round. Additionally, the cameraman can’t participate in any of the stunts past helping document it.

4. You can’t entirely choose the map you want.

Previous parkour contests had a relatively loose format, other than the notoriously complicated Parkour Survival. You could choose how many players you wanted in the video, what stunt you would do, which turrets and hulls you could use. Well, say bye-bye to that freedom, and say hello to... I think you get it by now. This time, there isn’t that much choice in what maps you would like to play in. This means that you must parkour in a predetermined map. Nevertheless, teams are allowed to vote for the map they would want to parkour in, and the vote is what determines the map. Once the map is selected, that’s the map where all tankers will do their tricks.

5. It’s big!

If you didn’t guess that this contest is going to be big by the fact that this contest has an article to announce it, rather than an announcement, perhaps this will help you. The contest was created in cooperation with official parkour clubs once the contest organizers came up with a prototype idea. For the first time in parkour history, there was a collaboration between the German and English parkour clubs, which goes to show the power of parkour.

The new parkour contest is quite impressive! While it does go in a completely different direction than that of the regular parkour contests, the new system is pretty cool. It’s as if Tanki was so tired of hearing the complaints of people who complained upon losing, that they decided to make an “everybody’s a winner” policy. All jokes aside, I would highly recommend players to take part in this contest. If you have any questions, just send a PM to SkeletorXVIII!

So did you just reveal 80% of the contest announcement ?

I'm not entirely sure. What you see is the information I was given. If you have any questions about the contest, kindly forward them to SkeletorXVI.

I'm not really sure. SkeletorXVI and SwiftSmoky are the best people to ask, but SwiftSmoky asked that players wait until the actual, official announcement of the contest.

I'm not organizing this contest, so all questions to skeletor :)

I said it's better to wait for the official announcement because usually nobody shares any info before it's out, because changes to some details are still possible until the announcement is posted.

Not much to mess up there, the task is not as specific as in parkour survival, it's more like a weekly MOP and the players vote for the maps so the organizers don't need to control many variables.
