Development Plans: The Second Wave

Yes, I know that sounded like a movie title, but let's get straight to the point. In V-LOG #179, which just came out yesterday, the developers laid out a roadmap that Tanki Online would follow over the course of the remaining year. In the previous "Development Plans" article, we saw a lot of ground-breaking updates that would somehow globally affect the game. This time, the planned changes are not only minor but also aimed at improving the quality of the features that already exist in the game. Let's begin!

Reporting Violations in Battle

 

It will now be significantly simpler to report violators in battles. Instead of using the "/vote" command, players will now have to click on the name of the violator and then select the "Report" button. Doing so will automatically report that player to the moderators.

With this change, you would no longer need to sit in one corner of the map, copy the name of the violator and then waste time trying to write the command correctly.

 

Rank Limits for Battle Groups

 

In Matchmaking groups, an interface for rank limits will be added. One of the primary reasons why this is being done is because the current system can easily be abused - a Legend rank can invite his Warrant Officer friends, causing them to go into the same battle as the Legend, making one of the teams significantly weaker than the other.

 

Note that these rank limits will depend upon the rank of the player that created the group. So, for example, a Legend will only be able to invite players from the ranks of Marshal to Legend.

 

 

Battle Results' Screen Changes

 

The battle results' screen shown at the end of every battle had undergone a few changes as well. First of all, the amount of time it is displayed has been changed from fifteen seconds to thirty seconds. Finished a cool battle but didn't get the screenshot in time? Well, now you do! Additionally, if you want to change your combo without it affecting your next match, you can do that too!

Another change, which is shown in the screenshot above, is the fact that the "Bonus" column has now been removed. Instead, the bonus crystals which were awarded to players with an active Premium Account are now added to the original crystals earned from the battle and shown in the "Reward" column. So, if you've been wondering why some players that are down in the leaderboard got more crystals at the end of the battle, here you have it.

 

Reason for this weird change could be because of the new mechanic in the upcoming War: Domination - battle stars. In one of the video blogs, it was shown that the stars you earn at the end of the battle would be displayed alongside the battle results screen. Could this change be temporary?

 

 

Waiting Timer in MM Battles

 

Being one of the minor changes, all it does is improves the system by adding a limit timer to standard battles. If the timer reaches that limit, the system will warn the player and suggest them to exit the queue and click on the "Play!" button again.

Gifts' Changes

 

Now, you will only be able to send gifts to people that are in your clan and friends list. The developers said that after they put the situation with gift's under the microscope, it appeared that most of the times, gifts that were being sent to non-friends contained questionable messages - the system was not being used the way it was designed to be, communication and interaction.

Some would say the change itself is pretty questionable, and that there could've been another way to improve the situation. Well, your feedback matters, so feel free to give your opinions in the appropriate official topic!

 

 

Custom Battle Names

 

Players will regain the ability to customize the names of the battle they make. Yes, the thing which was once removed a long time is now making a return! It would be interesting to see organized battles with custom names. For example, tournaments could now finally be able to name their matches after the teams that will be fighting in it.

Of course, these battles' names will be moderated, and an automatic censor system will be put in place to prevent people from writing profane abbreviations or insults. "Clever" players who try to bypass the system will get banned from chat, thus removing their ability to create more battles.

 

 

Addition of Standard Maps to PRO

 

Perhaps one of the most asked for updates of this year, the addition of standard, non-PRO maps will now finally be added into the list of PRO battles. However, do note that they will not replace the original maps already available in the list, they will just be added to the list as an option for players to practice, roam around or parkour. 

 

As a result, the modes Assault and Rugby will become available in PRO battles, but only in the newly added maps.

 

 

Skins - Smoky XT

 

As aforementioned a lot times in video blogs and other articles, the developers are planning on making skins for all turrets and hulls in the game. XTs are the only skins that have been hinted yet (other than the Legacy skins being given out in War: Domination), but in the future, other types of skins will be added to the game. What's the first step in this direction? Smoky XT - the beautiful counterpart of Smoky. It is worth noting that Smoky XT holds a truly majestic look, almost that of a sabretooth tiger, while still dressed in white and gold.

Older players will know for a fact that Smoky XT was already in the game a long time ago, but it was removed. On Valentines 2011, a new version of Smoky was released, yes, Smoky XT. It was more expensive and had higher statistics than its normal counterpart. A Few days later, its damage was increased further, causing a massive uproar between players, thus becoming the most popular topic of discussion in the chat and the forum. Afterwards, on February 24, it was removed from the garages of all players forever...

 

Now it's back! But don't worry, it's just a skin, or is it?

 

 

Recovery of Wasp M0

 

Good news for parkourists! Back in June, as the aftermath of the hull changes, parkour players were disappointed at losing their beloved Wasp M0s. Players are now being offered a one-time chance to exchange their high-tier Wasps for Wasp M0. After the conversion, you will end up with the same number of micro-upgrades on the hull as they were before the original conversion took place in June.

Here's how you can get your Wasp M0s back:

  • Firstly, make sure you have both, the original Wasp M3 and the Wasp XT skin.
  • Once you do that, send a private message to the account with the text "I WANT TO EXCHANGE WASP M3".
  • Within a few days, the developers will perform the recovery.

Be very careful before doing this! Wasp M3s will be removed from the garages of the people who requested for the change, including all the micro-upgrades. As told in the V-LOG, think times before submitting a request. You will not be able to revert your decision, and if later, you would want Wasp M3 back, you will have to buy it.

The Gifts update seems pretty dumb too me... They should just add censorship to them too. Now with this update some things are going to be harder to do such as applying for clans, apologizing to people, etc. And also they should really work on adding new maps to the MM system because playing the same maps over an and over again gets dull pretty quickly... Naming battles is a great idea to add because it'll be easier to arrange events, and just have more fun.

but my main question is that and it is most important

 

"WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO ADD SOME MORE BATTLES MAP IN MM BATTLES,THIS IS CALEED YELLOW TYPE OF THING JUST WASTING THE MEMORY OF YOUR SERVER THAT IS ALREADY IN ALWAYS DANGER"

 

so my suggestion is to use that prominent maps that are eating dust or remove them ...THAT IT TODAYS IMPORTANT TALK BETWWEN U AND ME .BYE BYE

SO WHAT U THINK WHEN WE REPORT SOME ONE MODERATOR COMES IMMEDIATE ,WHEN MODERATOR OMES 4 TO 5 BATTLES ALREADY OVER AND THEN HE AGAIN GOING TO SLEEP TIGHT , SO REPORT UPDATE IS NOTHING IN MANNERS.

 

I want maps add him humble request ..

To be honest, these updates made no change in my moustache!

I am a normal non-buyer, and always look forward in:-

1) "Dear tankers, with tomorrows server restart there will be no Matchmaking system." Or,

2) "Are you interested in getting your old tanki? With tomorrows server restart you will be able to complete missions in Pro battles." Or maybe,

3) "Semyon Kirov just decided that Modules update is all waste, and therefore we are bringing protective paints back." Or the impossible one,

4) "Dear lovely lollipops, we are bringing back crystal boxes. See you in the battle that's no more fun..Errr...I mean the battle that's amazing!"

If you atleast smiled then, eat a potato!

I totally agree with the map part. They were transforming some maps to symetrical form such like Highland and Polygon but they only introduced Yorkshire as a new map. They could add maps created by players but they dont seem to be doing that again. And we need an application to make maps because the one we have now needs too many downloads, and they are not working to me ( I'm also looking for somebody who could help in this ). I was very surprised that they didnt put the new overdrives for different hulls in the Development plans. I hope they will be able to finish these minor changes in a short time.

is this the whole paper? who won the contests? what are the new contests?

They could add maps created by players but they dont seem to be doing that again. And we need an application to make maps because the one we have now needs too many downloads, and they are not working to me ( I'm also looking for somebody who could help in this ). So, do I have this right?  When MatchMaker wastes a whole crapload of my time, your solution is to remind me that MatchMaker has just wasted a crapload of my time and have me push a button so it can start wasting my time... again?  Do I even need to point out how incredibly stupid that is?

 

Do the right thing.  Get rid of MatchMaker.  It is a cancer on Tanki.

The way MM works means that sometimes you will be put in an empty server and wait there forever. Restarting the search solves that issue - sometimes you may be put into a battle instantly.

A Legend can create until Brigadier , if that is a huge surprise to "M2 leave!!!!!!11!1111" people.

 

If the reader is smart, you would know that I am not just referring to some players alone.

Its not a map made by me, BTW is it necessary for a map to contain at least 1 billboard?
