well it could be possible that the play bought crystals or had already saved many crystals by the time that the contest started so it's still possible. The problem is not the amount he spent but he did all this in 10 days of content. How many improvements a regular player would do in days!?!?!!?

totally agree with this post. Can't be. Once when I was stupid and had too much free time I was spending like 20 hours for playing game. Playing at "polygon" and "highland" maps by collecting drops I've got about 300-450 crystals a day. I am not such a good collector BUT one can not collect all the drop even with supplies cause if it drops frequently so there are a lot other players around, in other hand no other players --> no crystal drop.
