When I first joined Tanki, it was this: you only get one tank, Wasp and Smoky, and all the rest you fight to unlock. You only get a few maps to play on, and the basic ones at that (Sandbox, Sandal, Boombox, and maybe a holiday map if you were a lucky #&^@!) And only two paints. Ranking up was a chore. Fighting kids who already had m1 and m2 sh!t that could vaporize us in one hit. It was hard to get anywhere fast. It was not cool to be a Recruit back then. Nowadays, Recruits, they come with Smoky and Hunter (which I would have DIED for back then), AND they can choose to switch out between Firebird, Twins, the FEAR MACHINE, as well as Wasp, Titan, and Dictator. They also now have way more maps to play on, like Fort Knox and Serpuhov and Plato and Red Alert. And more paints to choose from. Ranking up is a bit easier, since you have access to the Rage Combination (Twins and Hunter) and the Mosquito (Rail+Wasp) and you can even unlock the other weapons in the next 5 ranks. It's also easier to get upgrades nowadays, since you now have way more time to collect crystals for it. Back then it was one-rank-spacing for upgrades, which was pretty overwhelming. Having Shaft at Sergeant would have been a DREAM for me. You new generation you have it so much better than we did. You should be happy.
