The major advantage of this in TDM is that "massacres" don't occur that fast. Now if one guy drugs 1v5 he can max kill around 10-15 people before running through his drug time. If the ghost time is removed then it will easily become 20-30. Thus imbalanced TDM games will snowball out of control and the chances of the losing team ending up on the winning side will become next to none.

Point you ask? Tell me, You and 3 other people invade the enemy red base in Silence and you kill everyone and get the flag, So if there is no such delay for respawn, the enemy tanks would spawn right away and kill you. No flags will ever be taken ever again.

I had to constantly move around to avoid being killed by the enemy Shaft and Thunders.
