Oh I really do XD

The other day I was playing and I saw a guy using M2 Hunter and M1 Smoky, one rank above me (Lieutenant Colonel). However, after his crit took off half my M2 Hornet's health, I had to ask him what was going on. Unsurprisingly, he had MUed his M1 SMoky fully. What was surprising was that his only gun was Smoky and his only hull was Hunter, both with 340ishk XP earned on them (he must have played a bit before that update). So, inspired by this guy (name: melto22) I have decided to make a new account and, just like him, use only Hunter and Smoky. The main reason I want to do this is because I have barely ever used Smoky or Hunter, so it should be fun to get some experience with the two. I was thinking that if anyone else wants to, they could pick a combo they are unfamiliar with (so probably not Hornet+Rail :P) and go as far as they can. Post thoughts / feedback below!

I think he was complaining about the things you were talking about there, he thinks that only Shaft should be able to 1-hit stuff because guns that 1-hit and super frustrating to play against.

Oh I expected some guy complaining about OP kits... don't bother me that much but I did play against a guy who had M2 Dictator M2 Rico at 2 Diamonds (Second Lieutenant) and he said he had MUed both to M3 Level, which I believed because I saw him drive over a mine and survive my M2 Rail shot.

Alright I bought M2 Rail today, loving it with my lowly M1 Viking, but I have a choice to make. I can get M2 Hornet or M2 Hunter tomorrow. I'm not sure which... Hunter is possibally more verstile, but I'd love to zoom around with a Hornet, I really don't know what to do. I also have M2 Thunder so if that's better with Hunter or Hornet...

Atlas if you like being an unkillable camper, Minotaur if you have a brick handy XD No, I'd probably say Minotaur because M2 Viking goes with most turrets, Titan is less flexiable. But hey, if you love Smoky... EDIT: Okay Firewall is pretty awesome too, probably comes down to which paint you want or Viking vs Hunter.

I know right, I was expecting intelligent observations like 'turrets generally cost more (at M2 anyway) so a sale for turrets would be more beneficial. However, pretty much everyone just uses Hornet so a sale on Hulls might encourage people to buy a different hull' etc etc

But the speed of Hornet... I was playing with M0 Hornet M1 Fire on my alt (storm paint) and I found it really fun. And I have M1 Viking MUed 29/50 (I did the MUs ages ago before the update that made them bad and when M2 was like 5 ranks away) so if I need a medium hull that does the job fine. ATM I'm using my Viking and M2 Thunder and I just want a change of pace. EDIT: Also I want to make use of Electra and it looks better on M2 Hornet XD

Alright, so I was gonna buy M2 Hornet M2 Rail at New Years or whenever the sale starts. BUT I have been paying close attention to the paints people use and I see a lot of Rail protection. Also, it's really mainstream and kinda boring. So I'm thinking I'll get M2 Hornet M2 Firebird (with Electra paint that I bought ages ago for no reason) and become the killer of Isidas. What do you guys think?

Rail M2 Hornet M2 Electra is gonna look sick when I buy it at on the sale, best looking tank is probably M2 Shaft M2 Hornet Irbis. I dislike the looks of M3s (especially M3 Rail, who designed that...)

M2 Hornet, Maybe M2 Isida if you have enough. If you are using Hornet at Captain and above you really need M2, most people have M2 turrets which tear up M1 Hornets no problem.

Well if they remove supplies my 3000 Nitros that I never use will be wasted :'( Unless we got a refund, that'd be sick...

Your alt looks good to go until M2s. As for a good paint, depends what kills you the most. Tundra is generally a good buy, Rail is extremely common (I myself am getting M2 if the sale is decent). Corrosion is also solid, though the Shaft protection is a bit useless most of the time. Alternativly, wait for a while and buy a really good paint like Digital later on, and just hold onto your crystals. EDIT: Oops, this was addressed to Zenith

Yeah I've been interested in the combo for a while now, but what one to get first? Probably Hornet because a change of speed would be great, but I love Rail too... Ideally I'll be able to get both on the sale I suppose.

So what do people think, I'm tossing up between M2 Railgun and get a better hull later (probably M2 Viking next sale) or M2 Dictator now. I'm leaning towards the Rail because my M1 Viking has a bunch of MUs on it (29/50) from when MUs came out and were actually good, so my Viking is like M1.5. Also, I'm finding that I am avoiding certain maps and areas because of the situational nature of Thunder, and I think Rail is a little more versitile. Another minor contender is M2 Hornet, which I could end up buying alongside Rail if I get enough crystals by the sale.
