[Forum Game] How Many Years From Now...

I'll come back to haunt my old haunts, even if they are no longer here to haunt. In 150 years from now, I'll.......

An Apocalypse is inevitable...What to do?

I'd get me a front row seat so I could tell everyone about it in the Spirit World.
  3. On my lower ranks, we've had Isida M0 on our team when it should have been M1 or M2, but no one asked him to leave. We were grateful we had him. He had the correct hull and went into battle at times. He didn't have the power to fully heal two large tanks, but he could heal two large tanks half way. But then even if a Mammoth is an M0, I don't think an M0 Isida could heal two of them, anyway. Question I have is, were there other players complaining or just the OP? If the M0 Isida was trying to use it as a weapon for killing the enemy, then I could see the problem. The map shown was Massacre. I've noticed other Isidas staying behind the hills healing. You see tanks sniping from home base and not going into battle. What's the difference? The M0 Isida wasn't multing, he was helping his team. Personally, I don't have a problem with it. However, if he was using an M0 Railgun, for instance, then there would be a problem. All the turrets, except for Isida, have only one role and that's to kill the enemy. The Isida can kill and/or heal. After all, what's the Isida's main role? To heal... and that's exactly what the Isida in the photo is doing. Edited for spelling and sentence construction.

    Pro battles problems

I watch the outcome of battles from the lobby, especially the 1v1 battles. Seems a little strange that the opponents will be at opposite ends of the rank span. The lower ranker gets 10 flags with a high score and the higher ranker has 10 points and no flags. Hummmm....Wonder what's going on there? But we all know, don't we?

Drive down the LEFT side please

If Tanki had road signs and speed limit signs, I'd still drive down the middle. splitterpoint can try to give me a ticket. He has to catch me first.

Why so many players don't use Overdrive?

I'd taken a break away from Tanki, for awhile. When I came back, I see all these tanks with white stars above their heads. "What the heck is that all about and how come I don't have one?" Later, I start seeing blue domes appearing all over the battlefield. "What the heck is that all about?" Finally, I got a white star of my own. "Now that I got it, what do I do with it?" Suddenly, there were 3 wasps all over me. Bumping into me, shooting at me. "Now what did I do wrong and what is their problem?" After the battle was over, I started researching this strange, new white star. "OH!! That's the Overdrive!! No wonder those wasps were all over me. Sorry, Guys." At times I will run around with that white star above me. But I wait for a group hug and spread my love and cheer with my team mates.

True or False: New hulls are hovertanks?

If my memory serves me, Hover Tanks appeared in some of the Star War episodes. Their laser beam was deadly, but the craft was slow and made easy targets for rocket turrets. I guess kinda like an M3 Railgun on an M0 Wasp in a battle full of Strikers and Magnums.

Rank Brackets still need to be lessened

I joined when Tanki was 2 years old. Back then, the blue crystal boxes dropped like rain, but were only worth 10 crystals. I don't remember what rank I was, but it wasn't very high, at the time. I had read in lobby chat that the Gismo battles dropped more crystal boxes. So, I checked it out. Instead of single boxes dropping, they would drop 5 at a time and hardly anyone was collecting them, except me. I got killed a lot, but I got rich quick. The Gismo's were complaining that lower rankers were ruining their battles because the higher rankers couldn't get in. I'd hide in the shadows, behind a building, etc. and wait for the drop, then I'd wait to see if anyone collected them. If not, then I'd run out and grab the pile then go back into hiding, provided I survived. I don't know why the Gismo's were complaining. They should have been thanking us for keeping their battle field clean and uncluttered. :D

    Remove anti-cheat

Jump hackers can still "jump" within the self destruct limits. Example: I saw a hack jump in Rico map. He jumped onto the platform where the red flag is. Why he did that instead of the ramp, I have no idea. Another time was also on Rico map. Our flag bearer was on the lower level of the middle building under the ramp on the Blue team side. I guess the hacker knew that if he used the ramps, he would be killed. Instead, he jump hacked from the desert/beach side of the building. I saw him, but could do nothing about it with my Firebird. By the time I got where the flag bearer was, he was already dead and the red flag returned. I saw another "jumper" on Silence map. He fell off the building where the blue flag is. He fell about half way, then jumped back up. Again on Silence, where the wide ramp is going up to the first level of blue team. The hacker was sitting on the platform of the wide ramp. He came under attack, backed up and fell off the platform into the dead zone. But before he landed, he jump hacked back onto the platform. I saw him do it again on the platform of the long narrow ramp. He backed up too far, fell off, then jump hacked back onto the platform before he landed in the dead zone. I saw it used on Highland map, blue team side. Anyone who respawned between the small building by the flag and the cliff was trapped, because the red team snipers would kill us as soon as we came out into the opening. A jump hacker respawned there and jump hacked onto the cliff instead of trying to use the ramp. So, you see, the Jump hack is still very much alive. They just don't use it to get on top of buildings anymore.
  10. Some are saying that if you abandon a random battle you'll get penalized. I don't know if that will be the case or not, nor if that will be good or bad. My concern will be, what happens when you get an error and you have to log off? And if people don't get penalized they'll just abandon whenever they want for whatever reason: they don't like the map, the team is losing, they don't have the right equipment for that battle or to compete against the other team that is made up of certain equipments (think modules against ones turret for example). How will that affect teams and battles? Let's see what happens. (Partial post by D.A.N.T.E. See post #14). ================================================================================================= One of the other games I play has this penalty. After a huge update, some players were experiencing an unforeseen glitch. Logging into the battle was normal. After the countdown, the screen froze. You could hear the battle being played, but you couldn't move. When it happened to me, I knew if I logged out I would be penalized and if I stayed in the battle, I would be penalized for inactivity. I stayed the full 15 minutes and logged out. When I got back to the lobby, I saw I had a notification. I opened it up and found I had been penalized for inactivity. I, also saw a PM. I opened that and one of my team mates cursed me out for being inactive. So, even though my screen was frozen, others could see me. To get out of that penalty, I had to send a "ticked" to Admin and plea my case. Since this was happening to other players (forum posts), the penalty was lifted, but with a warning "If this happens again, the penalty will stay." I didn't want to take that chance, so I didn't play for about 2 months. After that, it didn't happen again, but after the countdown, the game was really sluggish for a few seconds, then seemed to straighten out and the rest of the battle ran normally. In a couple weeks after that, they took the bandaid off and fixed the problem. In this particular game, they had a good Admin Staff whose priority was to answer "tickets" (same principle as TO's help link). They guaranteed an answer within 24 hours. Usually, they answered within 10 minutes. I never had to wait any more than 30 minutes. Because of their attentiveness, I was able to make a decision within a few minutes, rather than having to wait for days and run the risk of another penalty.

    Idea of Challenge

1)...Sounds like an advert for ATB. 2)...What's the challenge? To tell everyone what our banking preferences are? That's none of your business. 3)...Title of topic sounds like a forum game
  12. At one time, you could paint your tank anyway you wanted, except you're the only one who would see it. Other players would see the paint you had chosen in the garage. What happened to that idea? It didn't last very long.
  13. I don't know about this new matchmaker feature. I've seen it on other games, and it didn't work out well. Let's say, for instance, you're on the blue team and it's losing very badly, but you stay 'til the bitter end, anyway. You want to play that battle again, but this time on the winning team (blue again). As the system is now, you can log out of the battle and then log back in on the blue team when there is an opening. So, with the matchmaker, will you be forced out of the battle and re-matched for the next? If you log out of the battle, will you have a choice of red or blue? Is there a chance you may end up playing with the same players that lost the last battle? (One of my favorite sayings is: "It takes a team to win a battle and it takes a team to lose one."). Rank or map has nothing to do with winning or losing. When a team loses, there's usually a reason why. I've seen many battles lost only because the losing team was playing TDM instead of CTF or CP. I've even seen teams trying to play DM or Parkour while their flag was being stolen time and again. In CP, I've seen players run right by a control point of the opposite team without stopping to change the color. Again, they are playing TDM. I don't want to play with those types of players. The Matchmaker doesn't know the difference and sometimes, I wonder if the players know the difference. In some maps, such as Noise, one team has the advantage over the other and some players prefer to play a certain side. Would that be a thing of the past? Will you have the freedom of choice? In other games, I've seen the Matchmaker continuously pit bad players against good players. I get kinda paranoid when I find myself on the losing team more often than a winning team. In this case, the losing team is usually filled with suicide players who get killed more often than they do killing. How will the Matchmaker make the decisions? Will it take the K/D rate into account? If so, the Asidas are in for a big surprise. Or will there be a Win/Lose chart implemented? It certainly can't take just Rank into consideration...Or could it? This whole Matchmaking idea just puts a bad taste in my mouth. (Yes, I do brush my teeth, use mouthwash and breath mints, thank you very much for that thought.).

How many hackers you saw during cosmo day?

As for the topic at hand: I saw one hack during Cosmos Day. It was a jump hack. Seems it's back again. I had fun on that map and would like to see it stay. I miss Moon Silence. Anyone remember the old Madness map? There was very little gravity and it was hard to tell what your tank was going to do when you made those big jumps. I think there were more holes in the floor, then, too. If you started to spin (like in parkour) you had to use your weapon as a thruster, otherwise, you'd either land upside down or spin out of control into outer space.

Yes, I know who you are talking about with the jump hack. I saw him a couple weeks ago. In battle chat (he was on the other team), I told him what I saw and gave him a warning. He sent a "smiley." He did it again, but from a distance. I think he thought I wouldn't see him. I told him, "I have my recorder turned on, just in case you want to do it again." My recorder has a glitch in it and doesn't record very well right now. But he didn't do it again.
