Hey guys, just a quick update on the apps. So far we've contacted no-one, but we're discussing a few apps and hopefully should be contacting a few people in the next few days. Apologies for it taking so long, it wasn't meant to all be done at the end, instead it should have been throughout the 2 months, but I was a bit too lazy *slaps self*.

I'll see what I can do, may take a few days. Update: Should be sorted now.

Whatever you paid, its not a great comp, 3GB RAM is nothing now, 8 year old comp at home has 3GB...! And dual core AMD I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. I paid £500 for my laptop with an Ivy Bridge (3rd gen) quad core i7. :D

Um, let me think about that one... no. All the reporters write for fun because they enjoy it, not cause they get paid, if we took away pay tomorrow, they'd all still continue. If a reporter is just in it for the crystals, then they would be gone.

Whenever their apps have been looked through. I've browsed through all the apps I've been sent, and some have been put into a list to be re-read in depth, so not every PM that's read has been rejected. (although they can still be rejected at a later stage.)

For the next month, we will be running a trial on how we do reporter applications. Applications will be open permanently for the next month, and to apply, send an example of your work along with info about yourself to ReporterApplications. The inbox will be checked every few days, and if we think you have potential, your article will be passed on for all the reporters to give their opinion on. If then, we think you would be suitable for the role, you will get a reply to your PM detailing the next stages.

I've not had the time to play much and write about that account, so its currently sat doing nothing, and there won't be any articles on it for the foreseeable future :(

A note on the occasion of our 3rd anniversary: This issue marks the 3rd anniversary of the Newspaper, and I've no idea where the time has gone, it really doesn't seem like 3 years have passed! It's been an absolute privilege to be a part of and lead this great team, and long may it continue! We've lost some great names who are incredible writers over our time, and we will miss them greatly. I'd like to thank all of the old reporters - already.dead, aojsd, cablaz, chriswu, Fjelstad1678, FOG-LIGHT, GoldRock, hithere1, Ilia.ArchangeI, jokjinari, Les_Alterman, Raphael2, Ranger7, ShadowVisions, Selena12121, SpreadLoveNotHate, skitee, SwagBoy11 and Vikingsrall - for all their efforts in the past to bring us to where we are today. However, I'm also excited at the prospects of the new guys we've recruited over the past year, we've found some great people, and I've been surprised and delighted at their progress. I'm going to stop now before I get really sentimental and start blabbing about 'the good old days'. The newspaper has been an incredible journey and I want thank you as readers for being a part of that and I hope you'll continue to be a part of it. You should be fine with the kit lens to start with. That's all I have at the moment, and I can't see myself being able to afford another for a little while. If you want to get a bit more serious sometime in the future, that's when you can get more lenses.
