Let's be honest; everyone is able to get them via daily gifts, so no one can really complain. I don't have lots of time to play in a battle, so leaving battles to find a better battle makes more crystals then staying on a team that is being crushed. If people used their supplies in moderation, people wouldn't leave as often.
