No, they did not get really more crystals. It is about the same. The reason is that in your team, some people have a score which is close to each other, so they divide them. However, you can see that there is a big gap of score between the 1st and the 2nd player, so visually you see that they got more crystals, but actually they didn't.

It is being considered and might be removed in near future.
